Lwandamina certain of goals at CHAN

Share

George Lwnadamina has allayed fears that Zambia maybe be goal-shy at the 2016 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN).

This is after Zambia were held to a 0-0 draw by South African club Mamelodi Sundowns in a training game in Pretoria on Wednesday as they prepared to fly out of Johannesburg for Kigali at the end of their five-day training camp in South Africa.

The draw came just three days after Zambia rallied to beat Angola 2-1 in Chipolopolo’s first international game of the new year.

“We are creating chances and in the first half alone, we had eight clear chances to score, more than we created in one-half alone in our 2-1 Over Angola,” Lwandamina said.

” Now we have to work at translating those chances into goals. We are solid all round and am sure we will be ready and very competitive.

“The essence of these training games like I’ve consistently said is not so much the score line but looking at how much we have progressed with our preparations.”

Zambia are in Group D at the CHAN that kicks off this weekend on January 16 in Rwanda.

Lwandamina’s team begins its campaign on January 19 when they face Zimbabwe in a Group D opening match.

Zambia will face Uganda and Mali on January 23 and 27 respectively.

  1. Almost 8 years now and 5 years after I have been banging on about it….we still have no training complex in Zambia. If we add up all the airflight tickets, accommodation, transport and Galu & wife’s finders fee we spend in RSA we would have constructed a state of the art football training complex in the outskirts of Lusaka or Ndola.

    • It’s no wonder grassroots football will never develop as you Galu are busy developing football in other countries. ..surely how do you benefit from playing clubs in RSA…who is benefiting more.. is utterly folly and criminal !!
