Bishop Noel Oregon tried to cover up a marriage interference case

Share

It has emerged that Bishop Noel O’regon of the Ndola Catholic Dioceses tried to cover up the case involving Father Davies Nsama of Pamodzi Catholic Church, who has been fined K10 million for marriage interference. This was after Charles Moto of plot 1337 Pamodzi reported the case of marriage interference to him.

Bishop Noel O’regon offered to buy Charles Moto a house in Lusaka so that he could not go ahead with the case.

Despite advising him not to go ahead with the case, Bishop O’regon condemned Fr Nsama and asked Mr Moto to go for an HIV test.

Mr. Moto however said he was aggrieved that the Parish Priest had caused him so much pain by interfering in his marriage and decide to go ahead with the case.

And Valentine Moto, elder brother to Charles said he was very disappointed that a person of Bishop O’regon’s calibre had offered his young brother a bribe of a house in Lusaka just to prevent justice to take its course.

Mr. Valentine Moto called on law enforcing bodies to stiffen laws against people that were perpetrating corrupt practices.

Earlier, the Chifubu Local Court in Ndola fined Fr Nsama K10 million for marriage interference.

The local court has since granted Charles Moto and Virginia Mphanza Moto a divorce on grounds that there had been marriage interference.

Local Court Magistrate Amos Banda sitting with Rosemary Muke and Aaron Banda passed the ruling.

Facts before the court where that Fr Nsama was the marriage counselor of Virginia Mphanza and Charles Moto, who wanted to dedicate their marriage to God, since their marriage of five years had not passed through church when they had initially married in 2004.

The Priest is alleged to have had been involved in an affair with the married woman.

He is alleged to have been offering the lady vehicle rides from her evening classes at Telephone house to her home since her husband was working from Lusaka where he was transferred in December 2008.

In his evidence Mr. Moto explained that on March 31st 2009, whilst in Lusaka he received an anonymous call advising him to phone his wife Virginia in Ndola and find out where she was.

He told the court that investigations revealed that his wife was involved in a relationship with the priest.

Father Nsama pleaded guilty to marriage interference, but refused ever having had sexual relations with Virginia.

He however agreed that he used to pick Virginia from school for rides before dropping her at her house.

He further said on March 31st he picked her up and took her on a drive to Luanshya.

And in her evidence Virginia 28, agreed that she was in an affair with the priest and that she regretted the entire episode.

She said the priest used to pick her from town after evening classes at 19:00 hours and would take her for rides in the night before dropping her home.

She said on 31st March 2009, she was picked by the Father who told her he was going to Hillcrest filling station to top up the fuel in his vehicle.

She explained that after reaching Hillcrest the Father did not stop at the filling station but instead drove to Luanshya where he parked at a restaurant and bought chicken and chips and came back to the vehicle and kissed her.

She said during that time, her husband phoned her and she hesitated to answer the phone.

Virginia disclosed that the priest also proposed love to her but she turned down the proposal saying she was already married .

She said the priest however stated that the affair would be a secret.

Local Court Magistrate in his ruling, ordered Father Nsama to pay Mr. Moto K10 million compensation in monthly installments of K4 million starting on May 10th, another K4 million on June 10th and K2 million on 10th July.

The Magistrate also advised Virginia to be faithful in future if she married again .

Meanwhile, business came to a standstill at Chifubu market as word went round that a Catholic Priest was in Court for marriage interference.

Scores of people rushed to the court grounds and almost attacked the priest forcing court officials to call for police, who later whisked the priest away.

  1. Koma iyi yalashupa,ok since virginia has been divorced Fr nsama should also be excomunicated then the two should marry ninshi twasolva.

  2. Is this Bishop Noel Oregon the one at the centre of Fr Frank Bwalya’s transfer or removal. He seems very busy

  3. I see nothing wrong in Bishop Oregon trying to protect his juniors. He is like a parent to those priests and he has the “right” to protect them just as a father would protect his son/daughter before he/ she is thrown to the wolves.

  4. “And Valentine Moto, elder brother to Charles said he was very disappointed that a person of Bishop O’regon’s calibre had offered his young brother a bribe of a house in Lusaka just to prevent justice to take its course. 5. 9 CONTINUED.

iT IS VERY SAD THAT this is what is happening in the Catholic church. How I hope the Catholic church can start showing real christian ways of doing things.

  6. MmmmmHmmmmmmmmMmmmmmMmmmmmmm!!!!!! These so called fathers should as well start getting married! why pretending when you love it!

  7. how we rush in condeming other
just as much as i admit thats its very wrong
    everyone has his/her issues
its time to pray that we may be spared from falling
wen a man of God falls pliz lets not lough or condem but its time to pray for his his forgiveness and strength that he may rise again to serve the Almighty
Heavenly Father may you forgive and restore Father Nsama in in Jesus’ name i beg you.

  8. The deeds of this Catholic priest were foolish and disgusting above all nauseating. I physically attended this court case and actually felt the nausea. Such deeds are important as such must be condemned to the strongest terms

  9. He could have just accepted the offer from Bishop Noel Oregon . 10 MILLION can not be compared to a house in Lusaka its like He has lost twice. Looking at the all story this Bishop has a hidden agenda which Fr Nsama knows about. Ubuchende bwamwine ebo engalawonawilapo money to buy some one a house? Nawo Bishop alatuta kumbali

  10. LT why bring this story now when it transpired a long time……..Anyhow heaven will be full of Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and them all who will respond at the 11 th hour…….

  11. PEOPLE PLEASE LETS NOT JUST. the desire of the flesh is very difficult to over come. and im sure these people had cracks in their marriage mr charles and his brother wanted to get rich. but what IS 10 million pa zed today? he should have taken the house. his only hurt is that his wife got with some first. I know these people. FR NSAMA PLEASE REPENT AND ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOUR!!

  12. 14, Pinkly, thanks and I am safe in the alms of God. I am only disturbed by people masquerading as men of God and yet they are doing things which are terrible. By God’s grace, the people who use deception will be revealed until the anti-christ himself is revealed at the appropriate time (see 2 Thessalonians 2 in the Holy Bible).

Anyhow, keep well Pinkly and take care.

  13. Maestro HH why do you like repeating what we have already read.Just get to the point and cut th BS!!Whats your problem?

  14. Priests go pimping,yo thats unheard off.Father Nsama is a a big shame to society, please amputate his John John, and for the woman let her be divorced or taken to a male prison for more slaughter, she seems not to be getting enough! Women????????

  15. These chaps are turnishing the good image of our Catholic Church. What’s their problem. This Nsama chap i know the bugger. He even buys chicken and chips and there after he kisses – MONK FUTI! ATASE! MA LABBISH!!!

  16. Ghostdog goes digital smoking ,good to see you reappear in big time digital form. Some of these priests always think with their small things in their boxer shorts and want to F ……..K anything that moves .I feel sorry for the children

  17. Bane we need to understand one thing. It isnt possible that th entire Bishop can behave like that. Thats a cooked up stories to bring the name of the Bishop into dsrepute. They that they cant get such an offer which was what they asked for when they first threatened to take the case to court. It was the Bishop who said no to it. Think guys. It was a case beyond what u want to believe. Zambians have become tricksters.

  18. truly Zambian comments!! Get real!! The woman was a willing partner too. inteferrence of marriage? What an ancient term!!! They did it, so what?

  19. Wasup Springchicken!,you too have disappeared in a long time, where have you been, good to see you,you can have my digital kiss!

#13 stop dreaming, you prayer should instead be..God help the Catholic church to allow their priests to start marrying.Them mofos are treated like prisoners, they starve and deny what God put in man (sexuall feelings),yet burn with lust.

  20. LT and your team , you are either very insensitive or sadists, you are indeed being very cruel to your readership could you not have spared us from another risque of a priest…..from Political Agitation to sexual indecency….. I have a headache actually, sickening to read.

  21. I dont think the bishop did anything wrong. He was trying to settle outside court. If i was Moto i would have just accepted the house and later divorce the wife. K10 million is chicken change that can be blown in a month!

  22. Bishop noel fimo fimo. Is bribing allowed? Ok but the ref has spoilt the chelsea livapool game. Alas! Let me sleep sori 4 posting this on this story. 30min pool 2 chelsk 0?

  23. ba o’regan basebana papipo. batamfya umwanike bwalya inkito kabili bati bakingilile umulandu wabupulumushi, awe mwinsho filya tabakita iyo.

  24. If anything, priest/fathers are not the best candidates to offer cansel to couples abt to get married coz they hv never known what it means to be married. It wd be best if they can delegate this work to married mature couples within their church.

  25. We are all basing our comments on a created story…not factual…though it is true that Nsama fail in love with the married woman…but part of the content of the story is full of lies and so our comments do not make sense. So shut up and find out what really happened!!! The Bishop did not bribe anyone neither did he defend the priest…! period. The woman went wrong somewhere and this is not mentioned in the story. And the judge condemned both not only the priest. You Zambians! Why so misleading?

  26. So who looks bad here? Fr Bwalya or Bishop Oregon. Who is supposed to be fired now? Ba Arch Bishop remove this scam bag in the name of Bishop Oregon. His agenda is sickening and it seems he has no values. If this Bishop is a man of God, who was he supposed to put on the chopping board, Fr Bwalya or Fr Nsama (pants down specialist)?

  27. Kwena ba katolica! This must be condemned even by themselves and not swept under the carpet. This is why Milingo is saying let the option to marry be there, noti ama totoli aya!

  28. bane ulupundu lwalishupa saana ,catholic priests should be allowed to marry.mukashana Abgail Malama how are you?,mayo muleasuka umutende nga twatuma

  29. lets forgive those who trespass against us and those who take other people wives to luanshya to buy chicken and chips,ba father i suppose they also human sometimes they need it ooh

  30. Bishop oregan might just have tried to organise this moto guy a house so that he moves his wife to lusaka not to buy it forhim.this guy might have given lack of accomodation as a reason why he left his family behind.the lady works for mission press which is the publishing wing of the catholics.so out of sympathy maybe he wanted to transfer the wife to lusaka and unite them hence the idea of offering them accomodation.if he wanted to bribe this guy why could he tell him to go to court at the same time?

  31. Ala kabili uyu mupatili Nsama muchende na ma kisses ukubukapo nama chicken and chips. I think wa life umupatili uyu.

  32. Its Frank, Nsama and O’regan…who should fire who…O’regan is corrupt he cannot raise his hand against Frank…Nsama is a well known cassanova, this is not the first scum he is involved in and Bishop O’regan knowns that is why he asked Moto to go for HIV test…. he should just keep his hands off Frank Bwalya…. why do you think Frank spoke the way he did against the Bishop…Nsama appeared in church on sunday ready to conduct the mass…JESUS..it angered the parishioners who physically kicked him out of the church…by the way Virginia is back at work and its life as usual.

  33. This is just a tip of the iceberg. Priests on the copperbelt drink and womanizes like common miners. The only difference is that miners use their salary and kaloba for their booze and concubines WHILE their counterparts (fathers) plunder parish resources. It’s longer a secret that these so called fathers are our partners in clubbing and grinding. I thought Frank should have first started with this war on his radio station. Alas he has kept dead quiet. Is he a culprit?

  34. K10m can not be compared to the emotional pain and stress that is caused by unfaithfulness and later divorce. The money will finish but the trauma will take quite some time. Charles needs alot of counselling and moral support especially from his close relatives. Organisations shud also avoid transfering employees where their spouse cannot join them. Electronic marriages (e – marriages) are very difficult to maintain. Spouses need a lot of descipline to handle the sexual challenges when their partner is kilometers away.

  35. There seems to be more than jus buying chicken and chips, for the bishop to offer the Motos a house in LUSAKA. Priests!!!!!!! Fr Nsama shud be excommunicated so tht he can marry or continue zigololo…..U think u can manage KAWILO?

  36. I wonder why these Priests and Nuns do not marry coz i have searched the entire bible for a verse which forbids Priests or Nuns to marry. The only one i came across is and i quote ” A man does well not to marry BUT becoz theres so much immorality in the world, each man shud hav his own wife and vice versa”. Wat this interference story toks abt is wat is contained in the verse.May GOD deliver the Bishop for attempt corruption and Fr Nsama for zigololo. Danny the musician owez asks u how u cope without a woman kanshi u get some secretly? God help us… Virginia is also a useless woman….

  37. Abigail, I am hambled by your comment on father Nsama. I wanted to say a lot about him and what he has done, however, you have reminded me that I also have my own issues to solve with God. For that I end here. I wont say much on father Nsama.

  38. Bottom line is the Catholic Church has never forced any one to join priesthood. And these are given enough time to consider, I have seen some who have come out to say that they cannot continue as they arnt strong. Some stay coz they have no where to go shame

  39. Am not catholic, however, to some extent i do not blame adulterous priest like our dear Fr Bwalya in this story, i blame their church leadership and their celibacy policies. Some of these priest genuinely want to serve God but remember they are just human beings like you and me, therefore the sooner catholic church see realities on the ground and loosen some of their traditions the easier the life of most of these priests will become. As for you condemning the Father dont through that stone too fast examine your lives first, who were you entertaining yesterday, how did you secure that contract, how did get employed, how many black eyes have given your wife, how cousins/relatives have defiled and/or comitted incest with etc.

  40. Virginia Moto wilachula mukashana wilashupika no mutima pantu nebo epondi. Nangu ifintu fishupe shani wishibe fye epondi wisakama uuuuuu ooo ooo! (MY OWN VERSION OF THAT SONG….ATI SHANI…..)Mukashana waliba sharp. Kazizi ngata baza kutwala kumbi. walasa.

  41. But was it necessary for these people to divorce? Bushe kwena ba Charles Moto uku baya ku Lusaka bena tabatoba? Distant relationships are usually problematic. What is sad in this and many other cases is that women are unfairly victimised. If it was Charles Moto caught in the act ,he would probably have pleaded for forgiveness from his wife, even falsely accusing his actions on witchcraft. And women being the way they are, Valetino Moto would have given the husband a second chance. I have seen these things happening in our society. Chabulanda sana kuli bana mayo. They are usually on the receiving end.
