Lumwana move cheers Kaunda

Ex-Kitwe United defender Shebban Kaunda is delighted to join newly promoted FAZ Super Division side Lumwana Radiants.

Lumwana have signed Kaunda, 18, on a two-year loan deal from his parent club Happy Hearts of Lusaka.

The skillful central defender spent the last two seasons on loan at Kitwe United where he was made captain last season.

“It’s a great feeling joining Lumwana especially that it’s a newly promoted side,” Kaunda said.

Kaunda, the cousin to Chipolopolo striker Evans Kangwa, in 2014 attended trials at Croatian club HNK Hajduk Split.

“Playing Super League this season will give me great exposure.
I remember the time I went for trials in Europe and South Africa it costed me a lot because I was coming from a Division One side,” he said.

Meanwhile, Allan Kamwanga’s Lumwana are beefing up the team ahead of their maiden Super Division season.

  1. LUMWANA you have done us proud in North Western Province. I was hoping that Kansanshi Dynamos, my Previous Team would be the first to play Premier, but after they dropped Jebo as Coach, aha Lumwana have come up very well. I will be following you from Afar and supporting you. I believe you will be playing your games at Solwezi Stadium, though very far from Lumwana. WISH YOU WELL BOYS.

  2. Who is Kaunda? Is there a stadium in Solwezi. Let us have respect for calling structures what they are not worth. Very soon HH will start calling his home as start house when he loses on August 11.

  3. Solwezi Stadium has been rejected by Faz now waiting for Lumwana stadium as works are still going on sorry for solwezi stadium for not meeting FAZ standards.
