Champions Zesco United on Sunday secured a routine 1-0 win Nkana in the big Kopala derby played at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Niger international defender Ben Adama Banh scored the only goal in this Week 15 match of the FAZ Super Division as Zesco maintained their dominance over Nkana.
Zesco have never lost to Nkana since they were promoted to the top flight league in 2004.
Banh headed in a nicely taken Cletus Chama corner to beat keeper Scoti Ngokene.
Zesco made the intention to score on five minutes when Jesse Were shot slightly wide from inside the box.
Despite failing to win Nkana dominated play in both halves but were let down by poor finishing with strike Walter Bwalya being the major culprit.
Bwalya headed a Donashano Malama free kick just over the bar on 63 minutes before missing a couple of other chances.
The robust striker was also unfortunate to see his first half strike cancelled for offside by Lusaka referee Audrick Nkole.
This win pushes Zesco to 25 points, while Nkana remain stuck on 20 points
A true jinx this one is! On any other day Walter Bwalya would have scored at least a hat-trick. Zesco Utd played some negative football though, sitting back and just pumping the ball anywhere forward as Nkana attacked relentlessly. One eye on the CAF game on the coming weekend perhaps…
