Patriotic Front Muchinga women chairperson, Mary Chifuna, has appealed to party youths in the province to remain peaceful as the country heads to the polls on August 11, 2016.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Chinsali today Ms Chifuna said youths in the area should ensure that they are not used as tools for violence in the run up to the August polls.

Ms Chifuna said PF youths should retrain themselves from violence no matter how much they are provoked by opposition political parties.

She was reacting to the beating of a PF aspiring councillor in Shiwangandu district by suspected opposition cadres.

Meanwhile, Ms Chifuna said Muchinga still remains the stronghold for the PF, adding that this is why opposition political parties are finding it difficult to amass support for their respective political parties.

She said people are shunning rallies for most of the opposition political parties because they are not popular.

Ms Chifuna said the people of Muchinga province are solely behind the leadership of President Edgar Lungu, adding that come August 11, the opposition will be taught a lesson.

She said the ruling party has delivered on its campaign promises and this is why it is easy for the PF to campaign.

Ms Chifuna noted that the ruling party has taken development to all corners of the country.

    • It is not easy to run an effective government that will govern properly without starving its citizens. Once a government fails to rule, they start infringing on citizens rights through violence and other means.

  2. No news. Show us live rallies not file pictures twa papata. Why do people not like to face the realities. We are just seeing pictures of opposition rallies and madam you are telling that the people are shunning the rallies.

  3. its all just lip service with these idi@ts and we are fed up of stinking, hungry, and dull PF cadres instigating violence–your empty words mean nothing; from now on, what ever happens to the cadres you send is on you.
