Bruised Zesco visit GBFC

Champions Zesco United hope to get their FAZ Super Division title defence race back on track when they visit Green Buffaloes today at Independence Stadium in Lusaka.

The battle will pit 5th placed Buffaloes against number 4 side Zesco who drew 1-1 in Ndola on July 9.

Zesco cannot afford to lose this match knowing a defeat will see them exchange places with Buffaloes who are currently 50 and 48 points respectively.

The pressure is immensely on Zesco who lost their second game of the season last Wednesday with a 1-0 away loss at Nkwazi in Lusaka.

Zesco have also picked up just one point from their last two games since beating Red Arrows 4-1 up at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

The champions head into the match unbeaten against Buffaloes from their last eight meetings since the homeside recorded a 1-0 home win in August, 2012.

Meanwhile, Zesco must win this afternoon to try and cut the 15 point gap between themselves and contenders Zanaco who play on Sunday at home against Forest Rangers.
