Chintu not hurt by Mbombo brace against Warriors

Share

Kabwe Warriors acting coach Kampamba Chintu has no hard feelings that on-loan striker Idriss Mbombo scored a brace against his parent club in Wednesday’s 2-0 loss at Zesco United in Ndola.

Warriors have this season loaned Congolese Mbombo to Zesco.

The striker put up a superb display when Zesco thumped Warriors 2-0 in a delayed FAZ Super Division match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

“You know football is like that. We cannot say is our own striker because he is playing for Zesco. He was in Zesco colours,” Chintu said.

“Loyalty has to be where he is. It is good for him to score,” he said.

Warriors are planning to recall Mbombo from Zesco at the end of the 2016 season.

But Chintu could not tell whether the striker would be at Godfrey “Ucar” Chitalu Stadium next year.

  1. This is a better arrangement, not the nonsense of ‘a loaned player cannot face his parent club’ nonsense they have elsewhere. I think Warriors should be challenging for the title next season.

    Go Warriors go..!

    • I also don’t understand that nonsense. We all know this is a game and players wearing a certain Jersey perform for that team loaned or not.
