Vice President, Inonge Wina, is tomorrow, Sunday, March 5, expected in Accra, Ghana, for the West African country’s 60th Independence celebrations.
Mrs Wina, is expected to be driven to Alisa Hotel soon upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport at 14:00 hours local time.
According to a tentative programme released from Zambia’s High Commission to Ghana, the independence celebrations are expected to commence at 08:00 hours on Monday, March 6.
ZANIS Staffer Emmanuel Banda reports from Accra that, Mrs Wina, who will represent Zambia, will be among several foreign dignitaries invited to attend Ghana’s 60thIndependence anniversary.
Expected to accompany the Vice President will be her Permanent Secretary for Administration, Stephen Mwansa, among other senior government officials.
This is the first independence celebration to be held under the new Ghanaian government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under President Nana Akufo-Ado, who was elected on December 7, last year.
After the independence celebrations, Mrs Wina is expected to attend a dinner to be hosted in her honour by the office of the High Commission here in Ghana.
The 60th Independence celebrations will take place at Black Square where the 72 year-old President Ado was inaugurated and sworn in on January 7, this year, and attended by President Edgar Lungu among other foreign dignitaries.
And a check by ZANIS at Black Square found workers busy preparing the venue for the ceremony which is expected to be colourful.
for what really?????? is there no representative in Ghana that can attend?
Thank me for advocating for President Inonge, she has been acting-president since October last year, while the PF President travelled around to hold cabinet meetings abroad.
She need a hotel spa as well. Travel well BoInonge, you need a break.
Let Edgar also act for atleast a week.
Ecl is tired otherwise he would ‘ve gone
Mileage is running fast also.
Independence day is for Ghanaians to observe, not every C*nt who is not Ghanaian. What was Zambian contribution to the Independence of Ghana? Zero! Stay at home you wrinkled old bag!
Its Agogo Wina’s turn to earn some Travel and Subsistence Allowances. This illegitimate Lungu govt is wasteful and is spending money like confetti and there is no tumoro. Lungu and his govt’s priority is self enrichment and selfishness. Under the failed Leadership of the violent and illegitimate Lungu we are doomed.
Mangufuli cancelled Independence Day celebrations. What is so special for Zambia to waste money for such celebrations? Did Ghana come for Zambia’s 50th? People with no vision just waste money for nothing.
