Nchanga Rangers central defender Isaac Shamujompa is cheered by his debut call-up to the Zambia National Team.
Shamujompa is among the 28 local players Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda summoned for the preliminary preparations of the 2018 CHAN qualifying campaign.
Nyirenda also invited Shamujompa for the National Team monthly camping in April.
“I thank coach Wedson for calling me. It is not easy because there are many players in Zambia,” he said.
“The coach has seen something in me and this is a motivation for me to work hard,” Shamujompa said.
The lanky defender has established his career at Nchanga Stadium after leaving Kalulushi Modern Stars at the beginning of the 2016 season.
Shamujompa has been commanding the Nchanga backline after the departure of George Chilufya and Chongo Chirwa.
Well deserved call-up, Isaac. Zambia needs a lion like you in defense. Keep it up and good luck
