Dr. Chishimba said in a statement that the United Progressive People (UPP) is founded on the true fear of God and that is why his philosophical foundation is embedded in the belief and trust in the Supremacy and Sovereignty of the Almighty God, adding that in his political journey he always seek Biblical rather than political correctness.
He further noted that his party is a progressive nationalist believing in politics for service and equal opportunities for all irrespective of tribe, religion, creed, race and cultural beliefs.
And Dr. Chishimba also noted that the UPP was founded on the cornerstones of love, freedom, unity, peace, liberty, justice, equality and the rule of law as the code of authority and governance for the general enhancement of integral human development and national prosperity.
He affirmed that it is against the given background that as nationalists party have decided to apologize to the head of state for the embarrassment and humiliation caused to him in Mongu road security saga which led to the incarceration of the opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema.
Dr. Chishimba said the president was exposed to danger by the Zambia Police, intelligence officers, Presidential handlers and that should never ever again in Zambia.
The UPP leader who seized an opportunity to humbly appeal to the President of Zambia and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces to find it in his heart to prevail over the police and release Mr Hakainde Hichilema for Zambia to continue being the beacon of peace and harmony in the region.
And Dr. Chishimba has proposed the appointment of an independent Commission of Inquiry to thoroughly investigate and render a report to the President of Zambia so that the people of Zambia can know the truth about the Mongu saga.
“This will also serve as a lesson for future generations and the police service is not better placed to investigate this matter because of conflict of interest, they are potential culprits as well” Dr. Chishimba said
Meanwhile, Republican Progressive party (RPP) President James Lukuku has said he hopes the UPP President Saviour Chishimba was not apologizing over his issues with the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA).
“I hope you are not apologizing over your issues with ZRA” Lukuku said

Whilst Lungu clearly stated that he’d never interfere with a court case, he ordered ZCCM-HI to drop the lawsuit against FIRST QUANTUM. Edgar Lungu told the state investment company to drop its fraud case against the country’s biggest copper producer. Is this self contradicting.
@Kabova the difference is that judgement has been made in the case of ZCCM IH and as for the HH cases the president can make a decision after judgement and sentence. See there’s no contradiction.

If we use Dr Chishimba’s logic then UPND should apologize for the Stolen Election and the unheard Presidential Petition. The Motorcade Incident was a Set Up to frame HH and slap him with a Treason Charge which is unbailable. HH is being punished for beating Lungu at the 2016 Elections,Petitioning the Stolen Election and Refusing to recognize Lungu as President. Its not a Crime to win elections and beating the Incumbent President.
