  1. The figure is worrisome plus if we take into consideration of other Lusaka health facilities it we entail that many of our people are dying.A good hypothesis of the matter would be taken by knowing the age range of those death, sickness and the state if the health system. If the majority of those deaths are from preventable diseases then we need a proper fix of the already poor health system.

    • With power increase coupled wth vissionless PF, Zambians will die at 15x this rate by next year this time..Mwalishanina chalimo dununa…When I saw that Zambians supporting PF are so dull, I left. Kuti waba contaminated naiwe mwe!!

    • This is unacceptable! UTH/Mujajati (bunda bwama polo outfits cant even ride a horse), try to retain Zambian trained doctors. There are too many doctors trained in Ukraine, Russia, India etc.

Also Zambian doctors must stop speaking to patients in English, how can you understand the patient if there’s a language barrier. Have translators if necessary!

    • This is no surprise. When the UN tell us that Zambians are the third hungriest people in the world, they know what they are talking about. These deaths are part of the proof.

  2. Poorly written story. You casually inform us of nearly1000 dead people and just leave things at that? These 1000 deaths are from what? Disease? violence? Road accidents? Who is responsible for these people’s deaths? Medical personnel? Police? How did the bodies find themselves in UTH? Who is investigating these deaths? Has the MP for Lusaka Central been asked for a comment? Is he not worried about so many deaths in his constituency? Is this normal? Do people just die like this anywhere?

    • very poorly written article indeed. Journalists are su pposed to give full information on an event . you can’t give people halfbaked produce. Dig probe research interview sources before writing a story

  3. Pathetic health system & am sure cretins like Mr kudos, terrible, 2020vision & their fellow pfools /dunderheads are rejoicing over these deaths

  4. Where there is no VISION, people perish! It would be more interesting and shocking to do a breakdown in terms of age, gender, cause of death, socioeconomic status, etc. 1000 deaths in 21 days = 50 deaths per day, UTH alone? How many were born same period? Net growth/decline of population? Not good for economic growth! We need to reproduce at a faster rate to keep pace but how do we keep up with biting economy and inflation with the 75% bonus increase in power cost? Wina azalila!

  5. Stop fighting HH and his hapless UPND, concentrate on health, Agriculture and science. Also common sense should be a subject from 1st until 12th grade in Zambia.

  6. Comment:The Devil wants more blood,am not hearing this 4 de first time it happened de same way in one of de hospital in south africa were a number of deaths was recorded in that hospital and it was a surprise to many.An agent of de devil conffesed how she killed de pipo, she was nursing de husband at de same clinic and at night she wud move frm ward to ward nd all pipo wud die in de wards she passed I believe this may be our case here. The woman neva wantd this but de devil forced her by making de husband sick so tht de he might use.she’s now a born again christian a Nigerian living in S.africa nd was prayed for nd delivered by our Lord Jesus christ thru prophet T.B Joshua of Nigeria,I saw this with my own eyes when de devil was speaking thru her during deliverance nd prayers.we nid…

  7. The LCC PR or the author of the article did a poor job if this is all she saud. I was thinking the 980 died at UTH hospital yet reading the story most are transfers. Secondly she has not mentioned the baseline and that is worrisome. That makes it difficult to know wether there’s an increase or reduction

  8. LCC, tell us: What normally is the death rate? Does the current figure represent a twofold or tenfold increase above the usual statistic? Paint a clear picture for us please. And don’t just worry, do something about it.

Don’t tell us Dr Death is at work here also. Remember, SA authorities suspected he had headed Zambia-wise years back?

  9. This is indeed shocking! Because even half of that figure is still too much. We are a dying nation. This speaks volumes about the state of our economy. The strange thing is that you hear almost on a daily basis our national leaders expressing happiness at the ‘prosperous’ economy and the ‘impressive’ rate at which it is growing yet our people are dying like chickens!!The only reason is poverty. It is not normal for people to die at this rate

  10. No surpriss here looking at the way the economy is being run by visionless leaders who do not give a sh.it whether people have enough to feed on and whose only concern is how to fix HH. The same starving people are only too happy to dance dununa reverse when they are dying like ants.

  11. Its no wonder that God keeps giving us children because his formula of life has death as a constant. This earth is reducing in size but the population keeps growing.

  12. I am shocked that LCC is shocked at the high death rate in the capital, when the environment is so conducive for even more deaths to occur. Any sane Zambian would even be shocked at the low rate and the endurance of many suffering citizens. Zambians are only surviving only through the great mercy of God.
