Essa Maintains Zambia Intl Rally Lead

Mohammed Essa continues to lead the Zambia International Motor Rally (ZIR) at the end of the second round of the event held today in Chisamba.

Essa, who won Fridays ZIR opening special stage held ion Lusaka, again dominated today’s main stage in the farming district of Chisamba.

The teenage driver finished 36 seconds ahead of Muna Singh with a time of 1 hr:51:15 sec while the latter  clocked 1 hr:51:51 sec.

FIA Africa Rally Championship overall leader Jamie Whyte of Zimbabwe is 3rd with a time of 1hrs :54:04 sec.

Local rally driver Paul Monge is 4th  with a time of 1hr :55:37 sec.

Olivier Costa of Rwanda who was 3rd by lunchtime and was one of four drivers who fail-out after being time barred for technicial reasons.

The ZIR ends tomorrow in Lusaka at the Barn Resorts in Lusaka east.
