The Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company says residents in the city will continue having at least 67 per cent of water supply, as works at the Kafue bulk water treatment continue.

This follows the 4-day period of erratic water supply, which started last Monday, due to maintenance works at the IOLANDA plant in Kafue.

Company Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Patson Phiri said works have continued and that the contractors have started replacing the 4 pumps at the treatment plant.

Mr. Phiri said the company is optimistic that the works will be completed on schedule.

He was speaking in an Interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.

    • replacing a pump should take a day. How come these pumps are so special that Lusaka should lack water. This is inefficiency. Ifwe fwe mafilika awe sure kuwayawayafye nama PHDs but nothing to show.
Mushota boi can your PHD help in this area?

  1. All the time HIDING IN GENERALITIES: “Mr. Phiri said the company is optimistic that the works will be completed on schedule.”- WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE?? WATER IS LIFE and you are busy talking from WITHOUT!!

  2. Nevermind…bulk treatment as if its grain …we know its badly polluted by the infestors up stream.

  3. Hope there aren’t any fires…where will our magnificent fire trucks fill up at their lightening speed…..
Is it coincendental that the figure is exactly $1million each…there doesnt seem to be the odd dollar or cent involved
That makes the figure look like it was made up.just too coincendental.
You get cost of chassis and motor, cost of body work, cost of tanks, cost of fit out cost of transport and profit margin and we get an exact $1million per vehicle…remarkable

  4. What do you mean rationing? PHI area has never had water close to 3weeks now. Disgusting.. How do you expect us to survive? Don’t ever bring your bogus bills or else we will open our vicious dogs for you.

  5. zambia still cant reliably offer one of the basic needs to sustain life to its people..
please fellow countrymen what can we do about this.?
