Govt warns against shoddy works

Luapula Province Permanent Secretary Dr Buleti Nsemukila says government will recall contractors  doing shoddy works in the province.

Dr Nsemukila says it is disappointing that works done by some contractors on infrastructures such as schools already have cracks within five years of their completion.

ZANIS reports that the permanent said when he inspected Musonda Girls Technical Secondary School which has developed cracks yesterday.

He has observed that there is need to ensure that  the structures get monitored during construction to ensure quality.

Dr. Nsemukila has assured management at Musonda Girls Technical Secondary School that government will  soon address the water challenges at the school.

Earlier,  Musonda Girls Technical Secondary School Deputy Head Teacher Kennedy Chishimba said that the school only has one borehole which he said does not meet the demand at the school.

Mr. Chishimba also raised fears of the dangers faced by the pupils as some of the structures there are cracked.
