Three years after investing US$2 million in a mineral water packaging plant in Solwezi, Horn of Africa Bottling and Manufacturing Company is expanding its business to start producing carbonated drinks.
A check by ZANIS at Solwezi Spring natural mineral water plant found Horn of Africa making extensions to its buildings.
Company Director Negusse Ogbe said the company was investing US$400,000 to start producing carbonated drinks.
Mr Ogbe said the company will take delivery of the carbonated drinks equipment it has procured from China soon.
Meanwhile Horn of Africa Bottling and Manufacturing Company has suspended its export of Solwezi Spring natural mineral water to Congo DR owing to the bad state of the Kipushi road.
Mr Ogbe said the company that produces 10,000 bottles of mineral water daily had found a lucrative export market for its product in Congo DR, but it suspended exports because of the deteriorating state of the Kipushi road.
“The Kipushi road has become terrible. Any more two trips on that road our delivery truck would be grounded,” he said.
Look what $2million can get you…if this was a PF’s IDC this would have cost $20million
Why not make pure Mango juice instead. Carbonated drinks are unhealthy!
So $42-Million stolen through Fire Truck Tender could have used to start a least 21 soft drink & pineapple, mango, maheu factories creating thousands of jobs directly & indirectly.
Ba PF ni ba Pompwe & are a curse to Zambia.
@Jay Jay Or Even $ 200 million. Private Capital is the most efficient form of investment. Government will always be excessive and costly when it comes to investments.
