It is match day 2 of the Caf African Champions League and Zesco are back in action in search of their first 3 points in the group stage.
Zesco visit familiar ground on Friday night with an away fixture against Al Hilal of Sudan in Khartoum in a 19:00 kickoff.
Both sides are on 1 point from their respective opening Group A matches played a fortnight night ago though Zesco top on goal difference.
However, Khartoum wasn’t kind to Zesco on their first visit there in last seasons competition where they lost 2-0 in a 1st round , 1st leg tie before bowing out 3-1 on aggregate.
But Zesco will be hoping their away form this season will not desert them especially that they are unbeaten in three away matches winning one and drawing two.
The visitors will be without their top striker Enock Sakala who has 4 goals in the competition through suspension and so will have to do with Jackson Mwanza and Nicholas Zulu in attack.
Al Hilal on the other hand will turn to the DR Congo and former Orlando Pirates striker Lelo Mbele to lead in attack for the hosts.
Meanwhile, the second Group A mach will be played on Saturday in Nigeria where Kano Pillars host Sudanese club El Merreikh in Kano.
This is probably going to be a better game than the national( tax payers money squandering possible self funding Zambian entity) team could display. Because win or lose the have played hard to get this far. With their over maxed out schedules and the pre-qualifying rounds. May God bless Zambians to start buying local and appreciating one another.
Hilal and Zesco bid for first win as is being reported by the BBC.
