Nkana have been handed the three points for their June 2 home game against Red Arrows that was abandoned in stoppage time at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Arrows players stormed off the pitch after Mbombo had scored a stoppage time penalty to give Nkana a 2-1 lead.
FAZ also confirmed Nkana’s walkover win over Forest Rangers from March 25 and fined Forest K10, 000 for failing to meet its league obligations after failing to travel for the game in Kitwe.
“The FAZ Disciplinary Committee has further awarded three points to Nkana Football Club in a matter were Red Arrows Football Club are alleged to have abandoned a week 15 fixture which was played on 2nd June 2018,” FAZ spokesperson Desmond Katongo said in a statement.
“According to the FAZ Disciplinary Committee chaired by Joseph Jalasi, Red Arrows Football Club were found guilty of breaching Article 109 of the FAZ Disciplinary Code which states that: “If a team refuses to play a match or to continue playing one which it begun, it will be sanctioned with a minimum fine of K15, 000 and will in principle forfeit the match (Article 77).”
“The Committee has also awarded Nkana Football Club a 3-0 score-line. The FAZ Disciplinary Committee has further fined Red Arrows a sum of K15, 000 to be paid within 14 days of the date of this ruling.”
With that verdict, Nkana rise from 6th to 4th on 36 points, twelve points behind leaders Zesco United and eight adrift of number two side Green Buffaloes.
