Members of Parliament this morning rejected the motion moved by Vice President Inonge Wina for the house to adjourn sine die upon completion of all business on the order paper and all matters arising there from.
Mazabuka of Parliament Gary Nkombo opposed the motion suggesting that the house should instead proceed with business and adjourn on Tuesday.
In his debate, Mr. Nkombo argued that one of the documents on the order paper was bulky to be considered today especially that it was only made available to members yesterday.
He contended that if members were to debate the 234 pages document which they have not read, it may take them until tomorrow 03:00hrs to complete the business.
It was at this point that the speaker Patrick Matibini put the question to the members of parliament with those against the adjournment being in the majority.
Go to comesa market and clean up fire. What’s parliament for? Useless money eaters, you do nothing there.
Govt is merely saying it is not interested in the views of MPs. They have already decided what they want to be law.

@ Nzelu, mine is a different view for I think with this kind of acumen Mr Nkombo is well suited where he is in the legislature to make laws and for checking government accountability. The easiest way to make a top flight surgeon ineffective is to appoint him/her to an administrative position. A living example is Professor Nkandu Luo the only known qualified top Zambian Microbiologist who was appointed Minister of Health and became a failure to be labeled most incompetent! Where parliament works it is where voices are not stifled!
Wow! MPs across the board for once did something normal.
It’s worth noting that this is the second time that PF back benchers have voted/agreed with the opposition.
Maybe even PF mps have started making independent decisions in parliament..maybe also this explains why ECL was not comfortable with the impeachment motion!

This parliament sittings is a replica of Local Government or Council meetings by Councillors, what do they resolve that change people’s lives? Everything that works are decided somewhere else…kkk waste of time, anyway, its for the bellie of vulnerables….
These Mps have failed us as a nation,they don’t represent our interests . They are not our messagers but there own selves. It’s a Shame
