Nkana seek to improve 2018 season home record

Nkana hope to improve on their poor home record this season when they host struggling Napsa Stars at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.

Fourth placed Nkana beat Napsa Stars 2-1 away in Lusaka on April 28 to collect one of seven away league wins in the 2018 season in which time they have recorded just one defeat from thirteen matches on the road.

However, Nkana’s home run has not been that great with six wins, five defeats and two draws.

And Nkana are currently fourth on 45 points ,13 points behind leaders Zesco United with thirteen games left before the contest for the top four continental places are settled.

“Napsa are not a bad side but a good side. We are just looking forward to collecting maximum points. The team is starting to gel. We are not expecting a draw but expecting a win since it will be a home game,” Nkana assistant coach Manfred Chabinga said.

“As you are aware, results at home have not been good, we have been struggling.”

The bright side of things is that Nkana have collected four points at home with a 2-2 draw against National Assembly and a 3-0 thumping of Lumwana Radiants.

Victory this weekend will either keep Nkana fourth if third placed Green Eagles win on the same date at home against Kitwe United.

Nkana have 45 points, two behind Eagles.
