Zambia Police Service Inspector General Kakoma Kanganja
Inspector General of Police (IG) Kakoma Kanganja says police officers have a huge responsibility of defending the integrity of the Zambia Police Service besides maintaining law and order in the country.

Inspector General Kanganja says it is gratifying to note that the men and women in uniform had continued exhibiting the needed dedication to duty under difficult circumstances.

He said that in this year 2018 alone , he is impressed that his officers in their various ranks and files had continued to showcase their ability as expected.

The IG said this in a speech ready on his behalf by his representative, Edward Ngama during the burial of former Inspector-General of Police Sailus Ngangula’s son the late Sergeant Peter Ngangula Junior, who was put to rest Mutumbi cemetery yesterday.

Mr. Kanganja described the late Ngangula as a hardworking, selfless, committed to duty who services shall be missed by the institution.

And Woodland Baptist Church Reverend William Chanda is gratified that the late Sergeant Ngangula gave his life to Christ.

Rev. Chanda said the declaration of Zambia a Christian nation calls for concerted efforts from both civilians and military personnel.

The late Sergeant Ngangula, 43 died at Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital on August 1st, 2018 after an illness.

He leaves behind a wife, Esther and two children.

  1. Speeches leave us speechless. I live in Zambia and make me understand on the police service. Traffic cops and general duties .

  2. “He said that in this year 2018 alone , he is impressed that his officers in their various ranks and files had continued to showcase their ability as expected.”

ITS TRUE THE POLICY OFFICERS HAVE BEHAVED ABOVE CALL OF DUTY MAY BE ITS THE NEW HOUSING VERY FEW UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT BEING CONFIRMED BY THE WELL ARTICULATE AND INTELLIGENT SPOKESPERSON AKAPALE THEY HAVE RISEN TO STEM THE COPPERBELT MBWAMBWAS THE TOKONTA AND THE JUNKEES OF LUSAKA EAST AND WEST AS WE HAVE OBSERVED KEEP IT UNDER EXTREME CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTS

  3. Sometimes it’s better to stay/keep quiet especially if you have nothing to say or talk about. Ba Ngangula please, let the family talk about the deceased and NOT you talking about your useless corrupt Police ‘force-less’…

  4. Yes, let the Police be exemplary, tell them that they have absolutely no powers to grant permits for political parties to hold rallies. Tell them to stop abusing the public order act immediately. Tell them in languages that they understand that the imaginary powers the Police are giving themselves DO NOT EXIST AT ALL

  5. Normal Police Operations and Not Political rally at which there is show of pomp and fake show of strongholds Performance of the police can not be always seen as to how political rally cadres unruly conduct themselves But even then the police have done better under extreme provocation with severe restraint

  6. You cannot take the thuggish mentality out of a pf cadre just by dressing them in police uniform. The same can be said in zimbabwe where the army over threw Mugabe and what we saw is military changing into civilian clothes and you think these people can govern when they are trained to kill. This is same with pf thugs employed as police. Vote upnd

  7. THE ONE BIG THING THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AMONG THE MEN IN UNIFORM IS CORRUPTION, THE OTHER THING IS TO TEACH THEM NOT TO INTIMIDATE PEOPLE UNDER THE GUISE OF THAT UNIFORM, NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW NOT ME NOT THE POLICE NOT KAMPYONGO, WE ARE ALL EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW.

  8. How this incompetent officer is still IG is beyond me…anyway the President is lazy and ineffective as he is!!
