Heavy rains destroys infrastructure in Luwingu District

Heavy rains which lasted for several hours yesterday left destruction in Luwingu district of the northern province.

Luwingu District Administrative Officer (LDAO) Alick Kampamba disclosed that heavy rains coupled with lightening destroyed roofing sheets and two teachers’ houses at Njeke and Saili primary schools, respectively.

He explained that at Saili two teachers’ houses have their roofing sheets been brown leaving teachers and their families stranded.

Mr. Kampamba further lamented that the rains have also destroyed houses in Saili village in chief Chipalo area of Luwingu district.

He said the office of the permanent secretary will soon be notified as soon as building officers is done with report.
