Minister of Higher Education Nkandu Luo has warned that government will not take lightly illegal strikes by Lecturers and their unions.

Professor Luo says issues in institutions of higher learning ought to be tabled amicably rather than encouraging strikes.

The Minister of Higher education has since challenged Lecturers to be good role models to the student populace by embracing dialogue.

She was speaking during the 7th Graduation ceremony of the Zambia Catholic University.

Meanwhile, Professor Luo said government is initiating frameworks aimed at rolling out the student loan scheme to private universities.

She said the Student Loan scheme is a sustainable programme that is poised to allow students from vulnerable backgrounds to easily access education.

  1. Nkandu Luo, just like Christopher Yaluma doesn’t add any value Edgar’s cabinet. She’ll end up in jail for the mayhem she caused in Mtendere during the campaigns. She’s lack to be walking freely because of a compromised justice system. She’s a failure, institutions of higher are no longer stable. I don’t know what she ministers, even if Edgar needs a Bemba and a Bisa in his Cabinet Yaluma and Luo don’t make the cut

    • Imwe bane namufilyafye incite. For long do you think the public will tolerate your stealing? Ubuntu onse alanaka

    • Ba Mpemfu Nkandu Luo is not a Dr. She does not have a PhD. She has a Masters. No one on this earth has any university that has her dissertation work. All credible universities have electronically uploaded dissertations. Her’s does not exist under the sun and there’s no university that claims her. Prof. Lungwangwa went to the University of Illinois-Champaign. You will never ever find her record. She is a Phoney and crook.

  2. LUO is right, FIRE all the lecturers and Bring CHINESE Lecturers who are ready at any moment to fill up all the disciplines offered by UNZA

  3. Was she not a lecturer at one time herself. Was she not allowed then to belong to a union and go on strike? Now that she sits on the other side whatever she used to do as a lecturer then is now is a no no.

  4. An illegal Minister talking of Lecturers’ alleged illegal strike. Does Luo know that striking is a Right under the Zambian Constitution? Zambia Concourt is protecting Luo and Mwanakatwe’s illegality.Instead of protecting the Rights of Lecturers Concourt is protecting Criminals. Zambia Concourt is completely State Captured and can never Rule against the State. Cry the beloved Zambia.

  5. 1. Luo is not a medical doctor;
    2. Luo should not be called professor because she’s no longer teaching;
    3. Luo is nobody’s boss. She’s our servant and should learn to tone down when addressing intellectuals. Dialogue is better than consensus if she doesn’t know.
