Lack of funds stalls Kanyama Water Project

Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation Permanent Secretary Bishop Ed Chomba signing the MOU whilst Water Aid Acting Director Bwembya Chanda looks on

Works on the Kanyama Peri-Urban Emergency piped water connection project have slowed down due to financial challenges.

But Water Development and Sanitation Permanent Secretary Ed Chomba says Government will pay off the contractor as soon as funds are sourced so that works can be done before the rainy season.

Speaking in an interview with ZNBC news, Bishop Chomba said up to 75 percent of the works intended in the last eight months have been completed despite Kanyama’s difficult terrain.

Bishop Chomba said over one hundred and ninety thousand households will benefit from the piped water project that is meant to avert incidents of cholera.

The project is being pushed under the China civil Engineering company.

  1. The “bishop” who has “PhDs” from Oxford.
And yet Oxford has disowned him and even said report him to the police. And yet he is still serving in government as a PS, based on faked pretense. What a shame.
And it’s more shameful that he bears the title of a servant of God….”bishop”….when he is a fraud.
It shows what PF is all about.

  2. And the good project like this one has no funding yet it deserves the top priority compared to other projects. It’s either this is considered a small project and the sharks can not beef off healthy profits or it’s more transparent that the same sharks fear to be exposed. So where there is no involvement of the sharks, then no money is provided to that project.

  3. Look, unable to complete critical projects without donner funds …..
