The University of Zambia (UNZA) has warned of unscrupulous people circulating false information that there are employment opportunities at the institution.

UNZA Public Relations Manager Damaseke Chibale said the same crooked people, who post the information on social media, are extorting K200 from some unsuspecting individuals for medical certificates.

Mr. Chibale said in a statement made available to ZANIS today that the institution of higher learning has proper channels of communication to its successful candidates.

He said the University of Zambia uses public media and its website to announce its employment opportunities and not on social media platforms.

Mr. Chibale explains that UNZA does not handle cash but directs its clients to deposit money in its accounts with registered commercial banks.

He added that the persons mentioned in the advert circulating on social media are not bonafide members of staff of UNZA.

Mr. Chibale has since advised members of the public to confirm with him and UNZA management for any suspicious information about the university operations, employment and enrolments.
