MUNAILE TO CONTEST FAZ VP POST

Ex-Zanaco, Zambia international winger and former Faz spokesman Emmanuel Munaile has announced his intention to stand for the associations vice presidency.

Munaile declared his candidacy on the final day of filing in of nominations and just 24 hours after incumbent Faz president Teddy Mulonga confirmed he would recontest his position for a third term.

The former Zambia international will vie for the Faz vice presidency along side his fellow former spokesman Joseph Nkole and Simataa Simataa.

Munaile earlier served as a Faz executive committee member from 2000 to 2004 under the administration of Evaristo Kasunga.

And filing in of nominations will close at 17:00 today, Thursday February 28.

Voting for a new Faz executive committee to run Zambian football for the next four years will be held on March 29 at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.

CHIPUKIZI ARRIVE

Chipukizi today completed one of the longest road trips made this year to fulfill a Caf club competition fixture after ending a four-day trip from Zanzibar to Lusaka.

Green Buffaloes opponents in this weekend’s Caf Confederations Cup preliminary round match arrived in Lusaka at 04:00 Thursday after a four-day overland and ferry trip from Pemba Island.

Chipukizi have just a day to prepare themselves after their grueling road trip before facing Buffaloes on Saturday at Nkoloma Stadium in the return leg tie final match.

The visitors trail 5-0 from the first leg played on February 16 in Zanzibar.

  1. Emmanuel Munaile, Kalu, Simaata, Hanif should just met and decide who should contest for FAZ positions. All these men have good qualities.

  2. 1-“I initiated the KCM deal with Dr Sixtus Mulenga and Augustine Seyuba and in a long time the FAZ league got a sponsor. That was my effort.

2-“Not only that, through my influence FAZ got the Nike deal. In many years, Nike was only dealing with Nigeria and Morocco in Africa, but because of my CV, Nike came to Zambia and the contract runs up to 2010. That meant good attire for the national team and some money for FAZ.
“Further more, through my influence, our local league will be shown on Supersport. That’s all because I’m the one they know at SuperSport and I convinced them (SuperSport) on the need to have Zambian matches televised on the channel,” What a CV

  3. Kalusha has a great CV. these days what matters is the connections and Kalusha has got those. He can easily pick up a phone and speak to Blatter. He can simpl walk into management of supersport and convince them to work with FAZ. He can easily talk to corporate South Africa , or Europe and convince them to get into sponsorship with FAZ. Teddy has good management skills but he is not known internationally. He wont be of much use to FAZ. Kalu can take FAZ to the next level. So common sense should prevail. VOTE KALU

  4. Kalu is definately the man for the Job,infact it has been long overdue, the man simply has connections with organisations and pipo who matter most as far as football is concerned.GO KALU.

  5. Kalu manifesto and my comments

    1. Youth League(Good)
    2. Competitive Premier League (Dependent on individual Teams securing sponsorship)
    3. Take Zambia to 2010 World Cup and Do well at the AFCON (AFCON yes)
    4. Host AFCON (Dependent of Availability of Govt Funding. We do not have Stadiums by the way)
    5. Bring in private partners in Football
    6. Encourage corporate to sponsor soccer (Good)
    7. Clinch pro deals for the Zambian players (Job of agents unless he will be both FAZ Presidency & Agent – Conflict of Interest)
    8. Schools soccer ( I thought Cocacola already sponsors schools soccer)

  6. Munaile should concentrate on his Parliamentary position and serve the people in his constituency. It appears he is not sure of what he wants, or did he become an MP by chance while his real passion is in football. This is not to say he shouldn’t comment/contribute to the game. He can even do better in parliament lobbying for better tax incentives for companies that commit or actively sponor sports, not just asking ‘how much was raised from TV licences in 2004’

  7. If at all we can amount to any thing in terms of soccer,I think kalusha bwalya has had much exposure,he has an altitude of fighting to the last minute,I know he can make a big difference.abena munaile yalikakana, its job they want, kalijo.

  8. Kalaba is set to dicusss personal trems and go for medicals at sporting Braga, if succesful , he will sign.
