MUZA coach Dabwitso Nkhoma says big teams are favoured

MUZA FC coach Dabwitso Nkhoma has accused referees of favouring big teams in the Super Division after his team’s 2-1 loss at Nkana on Saturday in Kitwe.

Chingola referee Emmanuel Bwalya was in charge when MUZA gave away 1-0 half time lead to lose 2-1 in this round 14 match.

In a post match interview at Nkana Stadium, Nkhoma said his Mazabuka side didn’t deserve to lose to Nkana.

“I think it was a 50-50 affair. We created some chances but we couldn’t utilise them,” he said.

“But the officiating was very pathetic. We had a penalty but they didn’t blow, there were so many fails against us but they didn’t blow. Being a big team they (Nkana) are not winning on merit,” Nkhoma said.

“These so called big teams have an upper-hand through the referees otherwise I am not convinced the way they are playing,” he added.

With four matches left to play in the transitional season, Muza are bottom of Pool B with six points from 14 matches.

Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi admitted MUZA were tough.

“Looking at MUZA they gave us a good run. It was a tough game. They scored first but we had to work hard to equalise. I am happy with the result we have collected maximum points. We needed this win,” Chambeshi said.

Chambeshi opposed Nkhoma’s allegation that Nkana won with the referees help.

“The best team carried the day. I didn’t see anything wrong with the referees. We scored beautiful goals and they can’t argue or blame the referee. Maybe Muza can blame their defenders for lack of concentration,” he said.

Nkana are seventh on the table with 15 points from 10 matches played.
