A Lusaka magistrate’s court yesterday sentenced Patriotic Front (PF) president Michael Sata’s bodyguard, Judge Ngoma to three years imprisonment on two counts of assault.
Senior Resident Magistrate David Simusamba jailed Ngoma to three years on each count but the sentences would run concurrently.
In count one, Ngoma 42, of plot 21/15 of Balastone Park in Lusaka on June 5 2009 jointly and whilst acting together with others unknown assaulted Mubanga Chileshe thereby occasioning him bodily harm.
In count two, Ngoma on the same date jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown assaulted Samson Zulu thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
Passing judgment Mr Simusamba said Ngoma’s action amounted to political violence that was slowly gaining ground in the country.

He said there was need to curb political violence because it was dangerous to a young democratic country like Zambia.
“There is need to deter people especially the youths from engaging themselves in political violence,” he said.
In mitigation through his lawyer Chola Chama, Ngoma said that sending him to jail would not help him reform.
He asked the court to give him a non-custodial sentence to help him reform because the law provided for alternative punishment such as suspended sentence.
The same court earlier convicted Ngoma on both charges on Tuesday.

Mr. Ngoma was working under instructions from his boss. Remember Kadobi? I shudder to think that Mr Sata may one day as commander in chief have the instruments of power under his control. I bet we will have not only ecomic refugees, but political refugees too. The so called rebel PF rebels will be the first to run away. Mark my words this we come to pass if we as Zambians vote this man into power next year. Food for thought.
This is the type of violence which is associated with Sata, the Chawama panga terrorist. Ngoma thought Sata would protect him for his thuggery against dissenting fellow PF cadres who were addressing a press conference at Courtyard hotel to denounce the undemocratic tendencies in PF. Can you imagine such a party in power? :o

We demand that all these people be jailled as the PF cadre as been jailed .. otherwise the country and the international community is watching well.

5,6,7 Justice does not work that way. No two cases are the same. The verdict depends on what evidence is presented against you, and what defence is presented. In this case this guy is a (Ngoni) nobody, just a silly disposable id.iot after someone makes his political point. Either the defence did not stand or the evidence was overwhelming, did you not see the TV clip of that Nissan 1000 van speeding away from the hotel? Nangu ni lawyer uwa maka, honestly how do you survive such evidence even if the judge likes your face? On the other hand, maybe presenting evidence to defend this f.ool would compromise some big fish.
What about the violence in Mufumbwe and Mulondwa Musungu’s son who killed children? Or the Lusaka MMD Chairman William Banda? These judges are a danger to our Democracy!!

That Ngoma thing thought that Sata will protect him and so he put up poor defence. What he should have done was to plead quilty without wasting the courts time and he was going to get a suspended sentence, but he thought he was clever. And you guys who think all these people the mmd are protecting will be arrested when pf comes into government are day dreaming, because the same people will just resign from mmd and join pf to enjoy the same protection. You are only in danger if you support th opposition. Atleast that is what is obtaining in Zambia.

Ask the guy who was assaulted or get assaulted yourself then you will understand how painful and inconviniencing it is. How many times have people written abt Satas thuggery behaviour. The people of chawama will testify to this. He had the guts to allow MMD thugs like Kadobi to machete innocent people whose only offence was to support an opposition candidate. PACT members I can assure you that Sata is synonymous with violence and for as long as we allow such people in country we are courting trouble. All the people that you are mentioning are in court and before their cases are disposed of you are already showing your ignorance. No two cases are the same. The hate that we exhibit on this blog will only help bring anarchy. By the way I haven’t our PACT leaders condemn Ngoma’s actions.
