MWENSE District Commissioner Edward Mumbuluma has died.
Mr. Mumbuluma 46, died in the early hours of today in a Road Traffic Accident (RTA) at Toka area in Nchelenge District along the Mansa-Nchelenge road.
Confirming the matter to ZANIS in Mansa, Luapula Province Permanent Secretary Charles Mushota says the province has received the news of the demise of the District Commissioner with shock.
Eng. Mushota discloses that the District Commissioner died on the way to Mansa General Hospital where he was being rushed for medical attention after the accident.
He describes the late District Commissioner as a hardworking man who fought hard for the wellbeing of the people, not only in Mwense where he also saved as Patriotic Front District Chairperson but the province as a whole.
The Permanent Secretary has since wished the family and the entire province God’s strength in this trying moment and burial arrangements will be communicated soon.
Mr. Mumbuluma was appointed Mwense District Commissioner in July this year. He is survived by a wife and 7 children.
If PF had a humble leader, they could have cancelled a rally in Mwansabombwe, to respect the neighbors mourning in Mwense.

I thought DCs are Civil Servants who should not align with any political party.

It is very disappointing to see some comments above from upnd diasporans. In our African culture we have to show respect to the dead soon after their death. It shows the type of people we have in upnd. These evil hearted people will politicise everything including death. As they say, evil begets evil. Soon you will lose loved ones.

So the PS is telling the nation the all DCS are cadres? How can a civil servant also be in the PF Functionary? Where is the Commission when all this is happening let them then allow all civil servants to participate in politics and see what chaos will arise in the civil service!! Or if they are incompetent, let them step aside so that we have serious people to run the commision

Look at this other upnd idlot above. Some one has died but he is busy talking about another dead man. Upnd members are one of the most uncivilized. Funny thing is most of them are not proud to state that they support upnd. If you ask them they will dodge the question as to who they support. That in itself says it all.
Death has nothing to do with good or evil, we all gonna die. but how we die is what matters. Our actions and all that we were follow us, good or bad… rest in peace.

It is appointed for men once to die and after this the judgment. Death is appointed, and you are no exception. You only die once, and death is not the end.

Thats the problem with these unmarked roads you can be the most careful driver but it just takes a drunk driver straying in your lane and you have a head-on collusion like above.

However, his appointment was illegal, like many others in Pf which claims to rule according to the law. So the poor soul goes away without civil service terminal benefits.

This PS is a cadre, the DC was equally a cadre who died on his way to campaign for his party. This is a shameful way of dying. The appointing so called authority should be ashamed of causing death by dangerous appointments.
Which then are the civil servants who get fired if they involve themselves in party politics?
