Sharp Blades and Kansanshi Qualify For 2021 ABSA Cup

Kansanshi Dynamos and Konkola Blades have qualified for ABSA Cup after securing top two places in the FAZ National Division 1 as at Week 17 which is the half season mark.

Kansanshi are going into the second half of the season as leaders after thrashing Zesco Shockers 4-0 on Sunday at home in Solwezi.

Royd Alufonso, Erick Yema, Scotch Mwanza and Justine Kangombe contributed a goal each as Kansanshi moved to 34 points.

Konkola finished second in the first half of the campaign after beating Mighty Mufulira Wanderers 2-1 at the weekend at home in Chililabombwe.

Konkola are equal on 34 points but behind Kansanshi on inferior goal difference.

Third placed City of Lusaka missed out on ABSA Cup qualification by three points following a 1-1 draw against Trident away in the North Western Province.

Ya Moto have 31 points, one ahead of fourth placed Chambishi, who forced a goalless draw at Zesco Malaiti Rangers on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Nchanga Rangers suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of lowly placed FC Muza in a match played at Khosa Stadium in Kafue on Saturday.

It was a shocking loss for Nchanga who were 12 points ahead of Muza going into this match.

Nchanga are now sixth on the table with 27 points and thirteenth placed Muza have 18 points.
