Kamanga Is New Kabwe Warriors Chairman

New Kabwe Warriors chairman Andrew Kamanga has said he hopes to help turn around the fortunes at one of Zambia’s most supported clubs.

Kamanga was confirmed head of Warriors on Thursday and takes over from Evans Mutangama who resigned last week.

“I remain grateful to the sponsors who have entrusted me to lead the team they believe can take Kabwe Warriors back to the glory days,” Kamanga, who was until his appointment as chairperson a committee member.

Warriors have not won the league title since 1987 and their last cup triumph was in 2007 when they won the now defunct BP Top 8 Cup.

“We hope that we can focus on improving the fortunes of Warriors which still remains a big team in Zambia with a large following,” the Lusaka businessman said.

Meanwhile, bouncing back at the club is long-serving secretary Hayden Dingwall who will be Warriors vice-chairman.

  1. Kalu winning at CAF while Kamanga winning at Warriors…Final show down at FAZ big post come March. Good luck to both of you..may the best man win.

  2. Will there be potential conflict of interest if he becomnes FAZ president? Or is it allowed.

  3. It is a good week for football administrators ,first it was Kalu with his caf and now Kamanga with the warriors position.Nizee.

  4. The Headline should read “Zambia: Kamanga Is Kabwe Warriors New Chairman”

  5. #8 I believe this is late Reuben Kamanga’s( former MCC in kaunda’s govt.) son. Word is that he was in the UK for a while, acquired some qualification, probably acca and then went back to Zed and set up some Co. dealing in energy. He seems solid in the pocket and has an influential network of Bourgeois

  6. Kamanga first mobilise Kabwe worriors then we ll assess you after one year if at all you ll prove to be our man we ll definately vote for you in 2012 not now. But Ba Kalu ni ba KALU. IMAGINE 38 VOTES FOLLOWED BY 6

  7. Bloggers! I dont read The Post from here. How did they cover Great Kalu’s victory???

  8. Kamanga has finally realized that he was being used by Simata Simata to fight a losing battle against kalu. Kamanga Organise kabwe warriors first then people will have confidance in you for top job in FAZ.

  9. How does someone become chairman before warriors hold an Agm? He can only be interim. Besides someone must investigate how former chairman was enticed to resign paving way for this moron bypassing vice chair.

  10. Warriors has a reach his history to be reduced to highest bidder takes like Amakumbi without a elections. Transparency wil be restored one day. How do u exert pressure on the incumbent with your money until you take over ?

  11. Mukalanda mukanaka but lyonse, fikalabafye ififine, apatebeta lesa wandi, tapafuka ichushi………KALU IS A LEGEND ….THE BEST SOUTHERN AFRICAN PLAYER EVER………CONGRATS MY BOY

  12. Congrats Kamanga but you are still a little boy to GREfricaAT KALU. You have won for a CLUB; KALU for CAF the whole Africa.
My advice is seek FAZ presidency after Kalu, you will be welcomed by many not through the back door of No Confidence Vote with Useless Simaata.

  13. #24 So what, how many pipo have these useless papers in zambia including politicians & see how poor our country is.

  14. Simataa Simataa iz not an angel, but doez not dezerve all the negative and bad attributes. And I think the FAZ secretariat would be well run by Simataa.

It was painful for the Post to cover the landslide of Great Kalu and they just did a ka small story about his victory.I was listening to BBC’s Fast Track on African football on monday and I can assure you, African FA Presidents where very much opposed to the so called heavyweight(Jordaan) the Post were painting hence his decision to withdraw cos it would have been embarrassing to lose to his fellow Southerner after the so called successful World Cup.One FA President made it very clear when asked why he was against Jordaan,he said:”that was World Cup and this is Africa!!”.

Coming to Kamanga.Show us what you are made of by turning the fortunes of my Magnificent Kabwe Warriors back to those glory days

  16. Please, please Kamanga, kindly give Simataa Simataa a position at Warriors. We are sick and tired of his rantings.

  17. BaKamanga, thank you for your little small achievements. Viva Great Kalusha Bwalya. Please go ahead messing up other small club management who lack vision and focus. To them the game is just vote of no confindence. Afterall you are guranteed of the small and onsided support from the Post

  18. At least Kamanga is now learning to pick fights with people his own size. Now learn to wait for your turn or when a vacancy falls i.e 2012.

  19. This Kamanga guy has dirty money as was being used by state house boys in the mwanawasa government as a front for dirty deals..especially by a Dr Moses Banda who was advisor to late president..

  20. Kamanga, this is the normal order of progression. start from Kabwe Warriors, then aspire for higher positions in FAZ i.e. committee member etc. when you have sufficient experience, go for the FAZ presidency. so mina amate, bola panshi, your time will come.

  21. #7:What has that got to do with the subject at hand?It seems you are just addicted to the keyboard!

  22. All has been said, KALU is just great and deserves all the respect from all zambians. Simaata is jus big headed and wants to be recognised with the little achievements he has made in zambian soccer. Simaata Africa has spoken, what about you a simple zambian?

  23. Fooooooo.ish Kamanga, hurtes for Kalu. Look at your friend now heading to higher positions.
