President Rupiah Banda is tomorrow expected in the tourist capital Livingstone, to officiate at the Seventh Zambia International Business Advisory Council-ZIBAC meeting.
The main objective of the ZIBAC meeting, scheduled to take place on March 30th to 31st will be to identify key actions and responses to enhance the creation of jobs in the country.
President Banda who will join several international advisors and key investors says the creation of jobs for youths is top priority on government’s development agenda.
Mr. Banda says government will also provide support to Zambians wishing to start their own businesses.
This is contained in a statement released to ZNBC news by the President’s Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Dickson Jere.
President Banda says his government is determined to create quality jobs for Zambians.
The President is of the view that government can address poverty through the creation of quality jobs.
President Banda is expected to convene a Heads of State SADC Troika Summit after attending the ZIBAC meeting in Livingstone.
The meeting of the SADC Organ on Defence and Security Cooperation is expected to tackle among others the Zimbabwe and Madagascar political challenges.
Zambia has attracted a lot of foreign direct investment over the past two years since Mr. Banda became Republican President.
President Banda has also accelerated the business reforms, which have led to Zambia being rated as one of the top ten reformers in the world.

PF Zambia’s gays party is under extreme pressure, says Hichilema
The United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has said Patriotic Front (PF) Zambia’s gays leader Michael Sata and his supporters are now under extreme pressure to clear the mess surrounding their party following its alleged passion and promise to defend and protect the rights of homosexuals and lesbians in an event that miracously the PF wins this year’s elections.
Mr. Hichilema said in an interview that it was unfair for the PF and what he termed as their favourite newspaper to continue attacking the UPND because it resolved to differ with them over their homosexuality stance. He said he was an African and a Christian, who did not believe in homosexuality and that his party should not be unfairly attacked for making its position clear on the matter.
Mr. Hichilema, who also accused some sections of the media for openly supporting the PF and neglecting the rest of the opposition parties said, the same media was now misleading the public on the demise of the electoral pact between his party and the PF.
Mr. Hichilema said those who wanted to misinform the public on issues which led to the demise of the UPND-PF Pact and his position on some national issues which came out afterwards, were just wasting their time.“Mr. Sata should come out in the open and tell Zambians the truth about his party’s support for homosexuality because a lot of people are aware of the interview he gave to the foreign media in which he suggested that he supported gay rights.
The UPND should not be blamed for the mess which needs to be cleared by Mr. Sata and his favourite newspaper,” he said. He said it was not a secret that The Post Newspaper and Kafulafuta Member of Parliament (MP) George Mpombo had embarked on a campaign suggesting that the UPND was working in collaboration with President Banda to discredit Sata.
Mr. Hichilema said the stories published by the Post claiming that he was campaigning for President Banda clearly showed that Mpombo and others were determined to deliberately mislead the public about the UPND position on national issues.
‘Banda’s changed Zambian politics’
CENTRE for Policy Dialogue (CPD) executive director Neo Simutanyi has said President Rupiah Banda’s tolerant approach has changed Zambia’s political dispensation as there is now more debate on issues and Government policy.
Dr Simutanyi a political analyst and a former University of Zambia (UNZA) lecturer in the school of political science said in Lusaka yesterday that because of his political experience and maturity, President Banda was more tolerant.
“President Banda is much more tolerant and there has been a lot of criticism of the Government because of the tolerance by the man on the top.
“When you pick a newspaper, the critical newspapers in Zambia you can see that there is so much criticism some of which you can’t find in other…
“When you pick a newspaper, the critical newspapers in Zambia you can see that there is so much criticism some of which you can’t find in other countries. This has been facilitated by the tolerance of the president,” he said.
Dr Simutanyi said Zambians now knew much more about Government operations because there has been increased discussion on Government policy by various players and stakeholders.
“There has been more discussion on Government policy whether negative or positive because of the political environment. Zambians know more of what is happening in Government whether positive or negative, this has changed how politics is done,” he said.
He said the president’s tolerance could be seen from the manner he handles criticism.
He, however, said that was also helping Zambians to critically evaluate institutions and organisations especially the media.
“Late president Levy Mwanawasa brought in some level of professionalism in dealing with political opponents. President Banda with his political experience and because he knows the likes of Mr Michael Sata and the other players, his approach has been more mature than the last two presidents,” he said.
UNZA lecturer in the department of political science and administrative studies Phineas Bbaala said President Banda’s tolerance was good for the country’s democracy.
“Democracy calls for the tolerance of divergent views. I am happy that President Banda’s Government is willing to listen to people’s views,” he said.
I hope he won’t be talking about Sata tomorrow!
is it a bird, no its Rupiah banda in the sky again
#10 Change the record, it is not funny any more. RB is president of the Republic of Zambia. In case you did not realise that is more than State House. Why should it be wrong for the president of Zambia to travel and conduct national business beyond the capital city? Does being president mean that you are serving a prison sentence in state house until it is remand time when election campaigns start?
Abo abaleya ne ndeke ni ba Bwezani eeeh! It’s just amazing the amount of tolerance for foolishness Zambians have. Even soccer fans are better because they are kicking out Great Galu ya Chiwewe from FAZ but ma Zambians bali ndwiiii as this guffy lazy man is looting their coffers through useless trips.

ENDORSE RB
Information just text in indicates that HH will endorse RB as the presidential candidate a few days before filling of presidential candidature. Apparently high level secret meetings have been taking place since early last month between HH and RB very top level private trustees. HH is in a position that holds the piece that both RB or Sata potentially need to complete their jigsaw into state house by end of this year. HH could however not give away that piece for a song. It is believed HH only agreed with the MMD when a seven digit figure denominated in British Pounds was wired to his controlled account in Switzerland, Europe. The account that the funds came from is a company account with no obvious connections to RB and similary the receiving account is in some descret company…

#20. This is crap and no proof. This cheap propaganda from some sick useless and irresponsible on paper called Zedleaks. Even a grade 2 can surely see that the report is fake. Where would MMD get the millions of pounds in question when they themselves do not have the money, they had to increase fuel prices to get money dubiously for their campaigns. Whoever sent the report suffers from chronic polio.ZedLeaks has also became as useless as the once might Post. HH is on his way to Western Province for his presidential campaigns. He has just concluded a successful champaign in Central province. The problem is that oppositioons have found not dent in the young man and are desparete to badly tarnish in name. Sorry it wont work Zambians are mature enough now now and can read between lines.
