Government has urged the people of Western province to guard against opposition political parties that want to use mere politicking to destroy the peace that is prevailing in the province.
Lands Deputy Minister Michael Mabenga said Zambia is a Christian nation which should continue to enjoy the peace it has enjoyed since independence.
Mr. Mabenga said this when he addressed a mammoth rally in Winela area in Mongu District yesterday.
He also urged women and youth to use their votes wisely by voting for credible leaders who can foster development in the whole country.
Mr. Mabenga appealed to women and the youth to give President Banda another five year term in this year’s tripartite elections.
He said by voting President Banda into office, government will continue to build more schools, hospitals and roads.
Mr. Mabenga further challenged men who attended the rally to join women and the youth in the good decisions to support good leadership in the country.
Meanwhile, MMD Youth District Chairman Mbangu Mbangu said the votes for Western Province are for the MMD.Mr. Mbangu said the youth in the Mongu district will rally behind President Rupiah Banda during this year’s polls adding that the party is still strong in the district and all its structures are intact.

SATA CONDEMNS RUPIAH FOR ZK 2.2 TRILION INVESTMENT
..as Western Province gets K2.2 trillion
GOVERNMENT has released a total of over K2.2 trillion for infrastructure development in all 17 constituencies of Western Province but Sata condemns Rupiah for investing in Lozis not deserving it he said.
The biggest projects are in the road, education and health sectors.
Sata said, Lozis do not deserve infratracture development claiming the region is better left poor as he he left it following defeat of his uncosnstitutional third campaign. He said he punished them for 10 years and should remain denied but Rupiah is over commiting trillions of public funds in the lozi land instead of Mpika and Kasama. But RB has trashed sata’s hatred for Lozis and assured him that he is not just president for Mpika and Kasama but all Zambian regions and people unloke Sata and hsis regional party.
President Banda last October commissioned the construction of the road, whose trial section has already been done.
Senanga Central Constituency has received K715 billion, out of which K705 billion is for the construction of the Senanga-Sesheke road.
Third on the queue is Mwandi Central Constituency, which has received K37.5 billion, out of which K33 billion is for the full construction of Mwandi Boarding High School.
Lukulu East Constituency has received K33.4 billion, out of which K26.6 billion is for the construction of Lukulu Boarding High School.
Sinjembela has received K33.3 billion, from which K28.6 billion will go towards the construction of Nangweshi Boarding High School, while Nalikwanda Constituency has received K29.9 billion, out of which K25.7 billion is for the construction of Nakanyaa Boarding High School.
A total of K29.1 has been allocated to Mangango Constituency, from which K27.6 billion is for the construction of Mayukwayukwa Boarding High School.
Other allocations are Liuwa Constituency (K11.8 billion), Mulobezi (K9.7 billion) and Nalolo (K8.3 billion).
The rest are Mongu Central (K6.9 billion), Sikongo (K4.8 billion), Kaoma Central (K4.6 billion) and Lukulu West (K1.4 billion).
The constituencies that have received least allocations are Luampa (K950 million), Sesheke Central (K934.2 million) and Luena (K540 million).
