A 23-year-old man of Shachele Village in Chief Shakumbila area in Mumbwa district is battling for his life after he was accidently shot in the stomach by his uncle.
Police spokesperson, Ndandula Siamana says Hilux Muleza was shot by Alison Hanyama, when he was demonstrating how to operate a pistol.
She says the uncle did not realize that there was one bullet in the pistol when he was demonstrating to his nephew how it works.
Ms. Ndandula says Mr Hanyama has since been apprehended while Mr Muleza is battling for his life in Nangoma Hospital.
And the police in Kabwe have recovered an AK-47 riffle after a tip from the general public.
She says the gun was retrieved after criminals attempted to rob residents of Kafulamase compound in Kabwe east.

Let us hope the nephew recovers. The problem is demonstrating by pointing the pistol at another person. If I had a gun I would not want to point it at a person whether that there is a bullet or not.
Get well soon ba Hilux.
First Rule of owning a GUN, ALWAYS ASSUME IT’S LOADED.
Hilux ka ? Ok get well malume.
Can happen to anyone, nearly happened to me, but bullet went stray. Best, rule: Dont touch guns.
A chap died at longacrs petrol station in 1998, he was sat in his beema and making pranks with his pistol, making his girlfriend laugh. He pulled the trigger accidentally when he was ‘sucking’ on the barrel…..

Get well Hilux Muleza I pray for your quick recovery. As for Hanyama its unfortunate what was supposed to be good intention of demonstrating how to use the gun turned out sour. Its a very unfortunate situatoin.
That’s why KK took Schoolleavers to National Service. To learn how to handle weapons safely. You point a gun at anyone except the enemy even if its unloaded!

Quick recovery Hilux. I just hope the police treat this as accidental and your uncle is spared more punishment as he is already traumatised.
