Ruling MMD optimistic of peaceful general elections

The ruling Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) says it has no doubts that the forthcoming elections will be peaceful.

MMD National Secretary Major Richard Kachingwe says the peaceful elections to be held peacefully will shame advocates of violence.

Major Kachingwe pointed out that it is pointless for anyone to doubt whether president Rupiah Banda will conduct peaceful elections this year when he delivered good elections when he was acting president in 2008.

He says President Banda is committed to holding free and fair general elections this year.

  1. a true breath of fresh air!!
this is what we need in the country, good assurances and from relatively credible sources.

  2. Not only peacefull but free and fair. We the Zambians are behind you Mr president. We shall be peaceful in our campaigns for your re election through to your swearing in.

  3. Zambia need a mature and transparent system of governance. As what is obtained to day our country is ruled by sole trading arrangement. The president has too much powers. am enjoying what is going in Kenya to day where the Chief Justice,Deputy Chief,DPP posts have to be advertised them pass the names of the successfull candidate to parliament rectification. The media is so independent that we enjoy both print and electronic news.

  4. @4, just to remind you that mr sata has absolute power in pf, before the people even consider him for the post of republican president. what more if he became one! and this is the guy that you are presenting as change, the reasoning of pf cadres never ceases to amaze, reminds me of one blogger who said you have to be pf to understand nonsense.

  5. It’s funny how MMD says “no, PVT is illegal!” then starts using it themselves. truly mad kicks of a dying horse
