PF urges Govt to revive Rice production in Kalabo

The Patriotic Front, PF, in Kalabo district want government to consider reviving rice production in the area.

District PF Chairman, Joseph Muzaza, said Kalabo still has great potential for rice production that could help contribute to the enhancement of national food securityonce fully exploited.

Mr. Muzaza is of the view that government implements a programme that would facilitate the sensitization of farmers with new farming methods to enhance their
ability in rice production.

Mr. Muzaza told ZANIS in an interview that farmers in the area should be equipped with new methods of rice farming in an effort to increase production.

He said crop diversification in the agriculture sector is significant to efforts of achieving reduced dependence on relief food aid in time of natural disasters.

Mr. Muzaza, however, thanked government for efforts being made to uplift the status of agricultural cooperatives in the district.

Mr. Muzaza, however, regretted that poor road network in Kalabo has negatively impacted on the marketing of farm produce.

Mr. Muzaza has since urged government to consider prioritizing the construction of the Shangombo-Kalabo road to ease the transport difficulties farmer experience in

  3. Where are other opposition parties? It’s like PF is the party that is pushing the sleeping MMD govt to wake up. Three weeks ago, Sata noted the bad services by B/Airways and again his party in Kalabo is urging the govt to revive rice production? The MPs emulate PF and you talked mountains and hills during campaign and now you are failing to deliver. No, its not MPs, its the foolish MMD govt that is banking on investors to make wonder in Kalabo. MMD govt please respond to the calls of the Zambians, improve the road network in rural areas for transportation of farm produce. Zambian people are willing to work but the foolish MMD govt is not willing to give a hand. Sometimes I wonder whether MMD crooks are geniune Zambians.

  4. I would not be surprised if Sam K is a PF cadre. That is the language PF specialises in.Its members are more often than not vulgar.
