Councilors cited for gross mismanagement

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has accused suspended councilors of gross mismanagement of the council’s property.

The LCC activities were alleged to be marred with corruption and gross negligence which forced the Minister of Local Government and Housing to suspend the councilors.

Local Government Administrator Solomon Sakala claims that the council was completely run down under suspended crop of civic leaders.

Mr. Sakala told MUVI TV News that the local authority has made tremendous improvements without the councilors.

Early this year government suspended the council following allegations of corruption in allocation of plots by the councilors.

  1. If Councilors are failing to serve the communities, then what is it that they are elected for? Please do not go into public office for selfish interests. Public office is for those prepared to serve. Its a pity we have such a situation with the Lusaka Councilors. The law must take its course.

  2. PF goons, calling yourselves as men of action are total failures. You are actually a bunch of thieves gearing to loot national coffers. Lusaka residents please do not vote for these PF vulchers in 2011 elections.

  3. The issue of the so called oppozition or just PF run council iz a very good scapegoat for the under performing Ministry of Local Government under whose jurisdiction the local authoritiez fall. How come there were no reports of non-performing councilz before the PF or indeed UPND came on the scene and yet nothing haz changed?

  4. these are the people who say they will sweep the street in 90 days….they change things in 90 days. These characters can not work. same crop from UNIP, MMD,PF….they want to continue looting. They give lannd to give to zambians….they share among themselves. The same which was happening under chiluba….continues…..NOW they have regrouped big time…in readiness to loot the nation as in coming govt……SAVE from these PLUNDERERS PHASE II
