The Lusaka High Court has dismissed an application by opposition Patriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba to order Vice President George Kunda to vacate office.

High Court Judge Albert Wood has ruled that the Vice President should continue to serve to cushion the power vacuum in an event, of a vacancy in the office of the President.

Judge Wood however turned down the application to strike out Mr Kunda from the proceedings.

He notes that the Vice President has a direct interest in the outcome of the proceedings.

This is in a matter in which Patriotic Front-PF Secretary General Mr Kabimba had applied that Vice President George Kunda should vacate office.

Mr Kabimba contended that Mr Kunda was appointed by virtue of his membership to the National Assembly which has been dissolved.

  1. This Kabimba is an absolute sicko. Where did he come from. Yes, parliament has been dissolved, but government has to continue functioning. On this one RB is ab solutely right to retain some people to help him.

I do not believe Kabimba took this action. What work does he do in the PF? Hatchet man for Mr. Sata? Or poodle perhaps?

By the way he has not been adopted for any parliamentary seat. this guy is doomed.

I shouldn’t loose sleep over it as Zambians will vote wisely in the end.

    • Its not Kabimba to blame! Read the constitution and find out! Dont just argue and its not Kunda to do work now but permanent secretaries to perform civic work!

  2. We wonder how many tricks is PF going to unveil thru the Courts of Law. Sata & Kabimba schemed (1) RB’s parentage; (2) tried to stop MMD’s distribution of campaign; (3) prayed to remove George Kunda’s VP position – all have failed. The PF is not being productive, as Sata cannot get to State House on a silverplate. Zambians want a leader who can best deliver a diversity developments for their future well-being. Education has instilled awareness tomany Zambians who are now sharp enough to assess liars that have invaded our political landscape. The Law Associsation of Zambia must revisit the calibre of services Lawyers must project in Courts. Otherwise Kabimba, Musa Mwenye and Sebastian Zulu have displayed the worst qualities of legal mind-sets.

  3. Kabimba should have been intelligent enough to realise that Sata has dribbled him out of the chance to get his own parlimentary seat. He should have been given the privilage to get a safe constituency that registered the highest number of Kaponyas in Lusaka or Copperbelt. Apparently, a “Promissary Note” of a free Ministerial post will not materialise after 20th Sept. The 21st Sept will be the beginning of an agonising life as a Street Adult for Kabimba. Njala ibaba, and his well-known girl-friend will prefer to hang around the corridors of The Post. Bad luck.

  4. #1-6 Pliz dont expose your ignorance on legal matters, zed law or zed constitution.
A person takes the law in his hands u open yo irregular dental formular ,kabimba takes the law to the judiciary u STILL open yo untamed malicious mouth.
It hates to hv RB as president imwe ba phikala.
    Foreigners take precedence over locals-unacceptable.
Sata IS the answer for local dignity.
Positive ameriolation is what PF is all about.
Ba LT naimwe no news sure except political plagiarised stories agaist sata.
The tone u use against sata is sad, poor and unprofessinal.nacceptable.

  5. I don’t know what many bloggers find strange in Kabinda’s action. Kabinda is right, Zambian constitution does not allow a presidential running mate who has to be elected to the position of vice- president. Kunda was not elected to the vice- presidency, he was chosen.  The Judicially is compromised and the constitution is been misinterpreted to suit their appointing masters.

  6. Kunda will end up like Lupando Mwape, who even lost his parliamentally seat if he’s not careful. On Monday we need ZRA to pounce on MMD, and we depend on you winter. For now ni Donchi Kubeba!!!!!!!!!1

  7. There’s nothing wrong with what kabimba did. the judge  doesnt know his law. the constitution  hass a provision  for the Chief Justice to  prevail if the president dies or goes mad
