Patriotic Front Leader Michael Sata

Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata has described the opinion poll held by the Center for Policy Dialogue(CDP) as very right, but noted that elections were not held on the day the opinion poll was conducted.

Speaking to QFM on on the opinion polls that predicated that President Rupiah Banda would win by 41 %, Mr Sata retorted that despite the poll predication, fortunately the elections were no held yesterday.

And Mr Sata says President Rupiah Banda cannot remove Chieftainess Nkomeshya from her throne.

Commenting on President Rupiah Banda’s threats against the Chieftainess on Saturday when he addressed a rally in Chongwe, Mr Sata says Zambia under president Banda is drifting back to the federation days were chiefs who opposed federation were suspended or dethroned.

Mr Sata tells QFM in an interview that Chiefs in the country should wake and be counted following President Banda’s threats to Chieftainess Nkomeshya.

He says the chiefs should speak out like Chief Nalubamba has done, stating that touching one chief means touching all traditional leaders.

  1. #2 I agree with you that this is the most sensible response Mr Sata has ever given to his attackers. I hope he can keep it this way that what his supporters on this blog sensilessly defending the indefensible and tearing to pieces anybody giving them the situation on the ground.

This response at least shows some shred of hope in Mr Sata , that he recognises what is on the ground but believes that a day in politics is as long as a year and anything can change and they just have to continue working hard and not insulting people giving them facts , I hope PF followers can take a leaf from their Leader for once. Am personally tired of the senselessness exhibited by PF bloggers

  2. Zambians lets wake up and vote against RB. this man has no heart for the Zambians, look how he is wasting the tax payers money for his campaigns for his own benefit. I believe Sata is the right man for Zambia as for now.

    • Ba Zimandola ubupuba. Sata is using water for his campaign? U think that chopper uses blood and cabbages to fly? Be sensible u *****!

  3. MMD are playing all tactics 2 hoodwink though only fools have fallen to this prey. Now that they cant fool us,’the top class’ chi sangoma william banda has resortd to beat us up physically. Dats what desperation does…..

  4. If the campaaign money ws really spent on improving the well beign of our hosipitals, there wouldnt be such shortages beign experienced in our hosipitals. Spending qsuch huge sums of money for only one mans benefit is evil.

  5. I agree with Satan, the elections were no held yesterday and they are not going to be held next year, they will be held after next week and that is not enough time to change peoples minds to vote for Satan

  6. #7 zimandola. Well spoken! Only I am reminded not long ago Sata loaded a suitcase full of K50 pins to the MMD convention – tax payers’ money that is. So the difference is the same! Lol!

    • SATAn is the ultimate corrupt politician – he flew the K2bn from Parliament in a helicopter to Kabwe and the ejected the Miyandas, Tembos, Nawakwis etc from the MMD Convention bcos they opposed the Third Term.  Only an under 5 in 2001 will think SATAn will save him!!

  7. Chayamba kuganizako ichi manje………….NJOKA……My family and i are voting 4 RB..The Hour Has Come again…….NAFUTI

    • please please please where are u voting naiwe..on a blog? aahh zedians..full of drama..everyone’s vote is a secret..have u ever voted in your life..only the person voting knows for sure..they could be lying to you to appease you..

  8. Bambokusumina. That’s the spirit we require, befitting of a leader like him. If he behaved this way he would probably be having by far more supporters than he currently has. He must keep this calm and talk to his vuvuzelas Kabimba and Lubinda as well. Good luck to him. Even though some of us don’t support him, he is still one of our political leaders and what he does reflects on everybody.

  9. Mr. Sata that is why you get heart attacks, why do you listen and believe such trash, just wait and see how you will walloped by Rupiah Banda on 20/9, why do you allow pipo to hoodwink you. I shall comment on the day of inauguration of RB, Chwelaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  10. A sample space of 1500 people. Not at all reliable when the electorate is over 5 million. So these opinion polls are ridiculous unless they sampled over 1 million people from across th country. Even these online polls that favor Sata are not reliable because very few people have access to the internet in Zambia.

    • True, and one wonders why people are making noise about useless opinion polls..what is the ratio… paaalease…just wait for 20th

    • That is why they are called samples.  The only 100% true result is a 100% coverage at which point you are no longer polling/sampling.  You can sample and indicate your confidence levels.  You have to understand statistics or just shut up.  Get an education you troll!!

  11. Sata is the most rude political leader when it comes to Traditional Leaders.Have you forgotten his *****ic words against Paramount Chief Chitimukulu?

  12. We hate RB and MMD, they are thugs and will teach them a lifetime lesson here in Luapula. Viva ubwatoooooooooooooooooooooo. Viva wiseman Sata viva PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  13. Can you all stop barking!!! Both RB and Sata have the same qualities……greedy, stubborn, out dated and irresponsible.Lets stop embarassing ourselves! if you are really serious about change, then vote milupi or hh!

  14. OPINION POLLS ARE DYNAMIC AND CAN CHANGE EITHER IN FAVOUR OF RB OR SATA BEFORE ELECTION DAY. GIVEN THE SMALL MARGIN BETWEEN RB AND SATA OF 3%, T THE POLLING ERROR OF 2% AND THE UNDECIDED VOTERS AT 6% AND THE PEOPLE WHO WILL CHANGE THEIR MINDS BEFORE POLLING DAY, THESE POLLS SHOW THAT THE ELECTION RESULT IS TOO CLOSE TO CALL.

  15. Yes your excellence, you are right and wise. In fact, all chiefs should denounce RB for he is attacking the house of chiefs.Period.
We have to remove this good for nothing RB by ballot on 9/20. He has no regard for Zambian chiefs because he is not Zambian.
Viva Zambia, Viva live Sata, Viva PF!

  16. If you want change then vote for HH!You cant vote for Sata and call that change since he is equally mmd.I think he still has his mmd card.ali ni fuzi wakwa chiluba no kwiba bonse.Another thing is that Zambians must learn to balance votes so that we have checks and balance like Americans. That is to say since each voter has three votes then one vote to pf,another to mmd and the other to upnd.Doing this means you balance up the presidency, parliament and the munincipality. But most of us will put our three votes on one party clearly showing our lack of understanding of checks and balances as a safety valve against misuse of office at any level of govt.Vote wisely!GOD BLESS ZAMBIA. Americans. That is to say since each voter has three votes then one vote to pf,another to mmd and the other to upnd.

  17. Too late kabwalala iwe, you are assured of a massive heart attack when the projections of the opinion polls come to pass. And don’t talk about chiefs we chilende we you are the one who has been insulting chiefs who have differed in views with your kaponya thinking.

  18. NEO HAS BEEN CONDUCTING OPINION POLLS SINCE 1991, AND ALL HIS POLLS HAVE BEEN A FAILUIRE…………IF I WERE HIM I WOULD PROBABLY GO INTO CARTOON DRAWING ….AT LEAST TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH….

  19. So much dishonesty. The same mouth that took away the badge from the Litunga, threatened to dethrone the Litunga and Mpezeni, insulted Chitimukulu for which upto now has refused to apologise for, is the same mouth warning chiefs against political opponents. And listeners must just nod in agreement? Sata must desist from this kind of cheap politics if he must be respected.

Now we know the target is the gullible but as someone has sung: ‘You can fool some people sometime but you can’t fool all the people all the time.’

  20. Iwe Chi Satana, dont comment on Chieftainess Nkomeshya, you don’t talk to Chitimukulu because you insulted him.
In just about 2 weeks, we are ending your political career, you time waster!! Munthu ni RB

  21. These opinion polls which are been conducted by disgrantled people are misleading Rupiah and his party and my advice is that they should stop misleading Zambians that he is more popular than Sata

  22. The old man always has a way of undoing his positives. The first statement is the first ever sensible statement I have heard from him. But, immediately after, cancels it out by another plain lie. How sad.

  23. “Mr Sata says Zambia under president Banda is drifting back to the federation days were chiefs who opposed federation were suspended or dethroned”……. Does this uneducated useless old man know what a federation is? I guess he wanted to say colonial days.

    • You are too young. Don’t go with the money wind. Check your civics lessons (I don’t know what theu are called today). Remember the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland involving Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe. If you are lost just Google don’t show your ignorance. There is a lot of information readly available now that yesteryears

    • I know very well what a federation is. Countries like the US, Nigeria, Mexico to name just a few, still function as federal governments. It is a system of governance, a federation is not synonymous to olden day.  The way Satan is putting it is as if a federation is an outdated systems that is undemocratic and exploitative when if fact it is not.

  24. am tired of commenting on this blog..!! Let the better man wins. If they choose to elect a sick man or fit one, it is up to the Zambian people. But how CAN they do it now when they rejected him almost 3 times when he was fit …?

    • In 2006 he lost to Mwanawasa by slightly over a hundred thousand votes and he featured only 92 parliamentary candidates. In 2008 he lost to H.E RB by 35,000 votes. I know you are intelligent and you have done you trend analysis. What could be the probable outcome in 2011 where MCS has featured parliamentary candidates in all but two constituencies? It is this logic thinking that is making people think MCS will carry the day. But in life things are not always logical are they?!

  25. People that vote MMD don’t seem to see the real picture or those of you that give praises are doing it for the fun of it. If you could open your eyes and have an open mind you will see that this is not the way we should be running our country, like am begging to be a Zambian when am the employer. Am glad Sata never won the other elections for now his worked hard for this one and it will not have come on a silver plate. Ask your selves “How would you like to see you and the country to look like in the next five years, in the hands of foreigners or in your hands?” Its up to us and I mean each one of us,and thats the truth. :)>-

    • i like your point – but unfortunately we are talking limited options here. ideally nobody should be ALLOWED to vote RB or SATAn. we should be voting the likes of HH,Miyanda, Magande, Chipimo, etc. We are being realistic by noting that none of the ‘ideal’ candidates will come close to wining.
We are then left choose LEAST evil, and that would be Banda

  26. Sata has disrespected his own Paramount Chief Chitimukulu. So as he says by disrespecting one Chief he has disrespected all Chiefs!!!!!

As for Chieftainess Nkomesha Mukamwambo II,she has herself to blame. As a devoted Catholic, she should have allowed President RB pay a courtesy call at her Palace and in camera take advantage of this visit and tell off the President .Chieftainess Nkomesha and RB have known each other way back when she was a typist at Tobacco Board and RB was GM for NAMBOARD.Later on they were both staunch UNIPIST.SO how can they not dialogue?

  27. SATA now how things are as at now.
So he acknowledges the fact that RB is very popular as at the time of the polls.
For once SATA is honesty on this one.

  28. Since I am not young.
    I know SATA very well.
He is the man who championed the ‘THIRD TERM’ bid.
He is the man who spearheaded the Nakawala matchet Saga.
SATA is the man who deposited govt funds in his personal account to earn personal interest on it.
I know SATA, he is the man who said, and I quote,
“Zambia has laws the recognise the rights of homosexuals and lesbians. All that is needed is to implement them” – end quote.
SATA is the man who accused RB of stealing 9,000 votes from him in 2008 – and yet RB got only less than 4,000 (so unless SATA meant that RB got negatives and after adding 9,000 then the figure came to 3,700+).
I know Sata, he is the man who built the flyover bridge and called himself, “man of action”.
This is SATA’s brief political CV.

  29. Since I am not young.
    I know SATA very well.
He is the man who championed the ‘THIRD TERM’ bid.
He is the man who spearheaded the Nakawala matchet Saga.
SATA is the man who deposited govt funds in his personal account to earn personal interest on it.

SATA is the man who accused RB of stealing 9,000 votes from him in Vubwi in 2008 – and yet RB got only less than 4,000 (so unless SATA meant that RB got negatives and after adding 9,000 then the figure came to 3,700+).
I know Sata, he is the man who built the flyover bridge and called himself, “man of action”.

  30. This is good from Satan. So when they lose, him and legion of buffoons can not blame it on rigging.

  31. Great words president Sata, but PF,UPND and MMD supporters please constructively and logically express your views, we are all adults no need splashing Lusaka Times with hate texts.

  32. I cant stop remembering SATA’s zeal for the Chiluba’s ‘THIRD TERM’ Bid.
Each time I look at SATA I see the ‘THIRD TERM” bid, and the Nakawala matchet SAGA.
I truely remember the depositing of govt funds in his personal account to earn for himself personal interest.

  33. Sata finds some consolation in Dr. Simutanyi’s polls-predidctions. This is because Simutanyi did not conduct opinion poss in that he merely replicated last year’s presidential figures that gave RB 40%, Sata 30% with HH and Miyanda trailing in 3rd and 4th positions respectives. Hence giving Sata some false hopes. Considering that Luapula gave Sata some massive votes in 2008, the landscape in Luapula has changed drastically against Sata in 2011. In Lusaka and Copperbelt the PF is visibly eclipsed. Due to FTJ’s factor Sata and PF fear to campaign in Luapula which has rebelled agaist Sata’s cruelity. Apparently, Simutanyi never carried out any opinion polls but published his estimates based on past performance in order to punish HH, who is doing better than Sata.

  34. SATA and simutanyi have agreed to play a game.
They have agreed that 2 weeks before give results in favour of MMD since you gave in my favour last time.
This will look like you are not biased.
Then 3 days before elections hold a press conference to announce results in my favour, and that will be the last and MMD will remain with no more chance.

  35. Of the three candidates SATA has exbhited the leadership that i have been looking for in my life.I salute u sir.God will see u thru. All the plans of the enermy will be brought to light before elections. All those charged with the responsibiliy of rigging will behave like a thug on the cross. They will realise how unfair they have been to you and Zambians. They will always be exposing themselves. They will be careless in their response and their intentions be known.

  36. Finally Mr Sata has acknowledged the opinion polls, but he has forgotten one thing, that the elections are only 12 days away. Surprisingly, he is wasting his precious little time campaigning in RB’s natural strongholds while RB continues to eat away at PF’s previous strongholds of Copperbelt, Lusaka, Luapula.

  37. Police rescue Sata from irate UPND
Quick action by police in Mangango in Western Province prevented Patriotic Front-PF Leader Michael Sata from being lynched by irate UPND cadres on Thursday.
This was after Mr. Sata went to Mangango hoping to meet his members, only to find UPND cadres gathered at the place.
The UPND cadres got incensed by Mr. Sata’s presence and charged towards the PF leader.
But police responded swiftly, rescuing and whisking him away in a Mangango police vehicle to another place.
Mr. Sata was later led to a place where his cadres had gathered.
Police Spokesperson Ndandula Siamana has confirmed the development to ZNBC News in Lusaka.

  38. Njoka yafa!! I am glad this is the last time we will ever contend with Sata on presidential elections, next elections will not be possible for him as he will be too aged to contest. Everyone, including Sata himself and his entire crowd know very well that he can not win this year’s elections! But, he is wise, he puts his finger on his mouth….ssssshhhhhh – Don’t Kubeba!

  39. Little brains think that SATA was conceading defeat. Big words WERE “BUT ELECTIONS WERE NOT HELD YESTARDAY” NEO SAID IF ELECTIONS WERE HELD TODAY.SATA IS A TRUE POLITICAL SCIENTIST.Go and study your english very well.Mind you oppinion polls do not vote.

  40. Bane, PF and MMD are just the same. Sata came from MMD together with most of his followers, there is nothing new that he is bringing aboard. His mouth is full of insults, he and William Banda are just the same, they are both vigilantes who believe in fighting and insulting others. No wonder as Zambians we have short memories because most of you PF supporters have forgotten the many insults and fighting sata committed. It’s time we ushered in fresh and young politicians, VIVA NAREP, VIVA UPND. Old recycled leaders go and rest.

  41. We appear to have a lot of misunderstanding concerning opinion polls. As the name suggest it is simply a collection of opinions from voters to gauge who they will vote for in an organised manner . If the sample is picked randomly meaning without bias polls could be very accurate with confidence level of upto 99%. But the problem it is possible pollsters are sponsored hence biased and hence worthless. We have to move to the next stage where pollsters form an association for self regulation.

  42. Change is inevitable. Whatever insult or unforgiving statements, the likelyhood of Sata ruling Zambia is very high since he is one of the candidates. Moreover the probability of each candidate becoming a president is 0.1. Coming to the opinion polls, they are extremely biased and unrepresentative because all of them have samples below a million. Hence, they are not at all reliable. Please, let us all stop using vulgar language as we support our candidates and wait for the Sept 20 outcome. Peace be with all of us. Let us not condone violence but condemn it!

  43. Mr RB’s scandals are too many in less than 3 years. The major one is failure to fight corruption. The minor ones are threatening Nkomeshya, monopolysing ZNBC, Times and Dail Mail. Adding to the list of failures, he has failed to tame William Banda who really terrorised innocent Chongwe villagers. The change in the opinion poll is favour of Sata if the opinion poll was to be carried out for Chongwe District alone.
