Nchanga Stadium to Host Zambia-Libya Game

Zambia’s final 2012 Africa Cup Group C game against Libya will be played at Nchanga Stadium and not Ndola Stadium.

Faz confirmed today that the game scheduled for October 8 will be played in Chingola.

A Faz technical inspection team led by general secretary George Kasengele visited the newly build 40,000 sitter arena said that the playing surface and peripheral areas were yet to be completed.

“We have no alternative but to take the game against Libya back to Nchanga Stadium in Chingola,” said Kasengele.

Zambia will head back to Nchanga where they last played on June 5 where they beat Mozambique 3-0 in their fourth Group C game.

  1. The country has many stadiums which need upgrading. We cant be having all international and big matches being played on Copperbelt and Lusaka.Livingstone, Solwezi, Chipata, Mansa and Kasama can provide venues as well. Why cant RB and his MMD provide funds to improve and increase the seating capacity of the provincial stadias. As for the Chipolopolo should not underate Libya coz of choas at home and aim for a draw. Thye should convincingly beat Libya to improve our ratings on FIFA chart.

  2. at least away from politicking. we wish chipolopolo all the best. By the way, where are the lunatics kamanga and simatamania? Finally, they have come to terms and accepted that Great kalu is a good administrator. He has managed to wo investors into the game. For the first time we were able to watch zambia comoros on znbc without complaints due to investors which kalusha has managed to partner with. 2012 is for GREAT KALU for another mandate.

  3. Ba bwana mkubwa, its true you are an old man like your name suggests. Building of the stadiums is the begining and whats more, its not just government which should be investing in infrastructure. Look at the trend right there were you are blooging from. Stadiums are owned by the private sector. The best you can do is urge the big companies like ZANACO, ZESCO, ZSIC, ZAMBIA SUGAR , CHILANGA CEMENT and a lot more to invest in modern sports arenas. Here in the USA the government does not own any stadium. Even the second most expensive arena in the world ( MADISON SQUARE GARDEN) is no owned by the government.

  4. I don’t care which stadium the game will be played from for as long as it is in PF’s stronghold. shaaa

  5. Ndola stadium is complete, except their are fears that should we loose in the new stadium it will bring bad omen, so they want to have a ka weak team invited to come an inaugurate the opening of the same.

  6. The telecommunications installations are not yet done and the Chinese want to make sure everything is in place. The stadium is very modern and will have internet cafes and restaurants with giant screens within the stadium premises.

  7. The new Ndola Stadium is but a start. We need much more, infact, all provinces should have atleast one modern stadium to host international games. Nchanga, Konkola and the like are sub-standered and should be banned by FIFA from hosting further International games. We can’t afford to continue lagging behind with poor infrustracture while the rest of the world is moving forward. GOVERNMENT should take the lead and the private sector will follow. This is not the US. this is AFRICA. Learn from your neighbour SOUTH AFRICA. The government took the lead and the private sector followed suit..BEST WISHES CHIPOLOPOLO…AND MICHAEL CHILUFYA SATA. VIVA PABWATOOOOOOOO….

  8. Surely holding an international game aganist the desert rebels at Nchanga staduim is a shame. Just shows how finished the country is. Hope ndola stadium can open soon.

  9. It is a good start in ndola, let us do the same in other towns.football bring enemies together.thankx,Ndolian
