Government has urged UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to stop trivializing the decisions that government is making for the benefit of the Zambian people.
Chief Government spokesperson Given Lubinda says the opposition leader is at liberty to engage the government on policy matters stating that the PF government will not allow the opposition to derail it in its quest to deliver development to the Zambian people.
Mr. Lubinda says it is regrettable to learn that Mr. Hichilema has been attacking government for its decision to relocate the provincial capital of southern province from Livingstone to Choma which is centrally located.
He says moving the capital to Choma will reduce the cost of running government business in the province adding that it is sad that the opposition leader has failed to see logic in the decision made.
Mr. Lubinda has further stressed that the establishment of Muchinga province as the 10th province was one of the issues which the PF talked about during its campaigns and that the government is merely fulfilling its promise to the people of that area.
And Mr. Lubinda has advised Mr. Hichilema to take a break and recover from the election fatigue. The Chief government spokesperson adds that the UPND leader should also reflect on the future of his political career and that of his party.

Hon. Lubinda is doing a very good job in terms of addressing critics like HH. It is definitely timely advice because Chipimo has been making a lot of sense in the last couple of weeks and people are beginning to notice him. If HH continues to criticize unconstructively, he is likely to pay a huge price for it in the near future. He needs to regroup and come back with a better strategy because the current one is definitely not working.
HH is scared of loosing support from southern province. He should give reasons and alternatives for the same move. Most MPs are reading between lines. Be carefull HH or you may loose even what you have by fighting good desicions.

Zambia has a very primitive stlyle of governance. How can president just woke up and announce that he is movind a provincial center from Livingstone to Choma. Sata should have said his government is suggesting to stakeholders in Southern Province to move the provincial center and let the stakeholders through a task force make recommendations on the feasibility and way forward.

I said it before and I say it again, HH has lost course and is grossly disgruntled. It is not reasonable to practice the ‘politics of no’. HH relied so much on the rigging system that he thought Sata would lose the just ended election. To his surprise, we won it for H.E Sata. HH is not electable as he falls short of convincingly persuading another province but Southern Province. We wish he can start putting forward alternative policies rather than empty opposition.
