Opposition UPND youths have boycotted tomorrow’s national youth day celebrations in all parts of the country.

National Youth Chairman Likando Mufalali announced the boycott at a media briefing held at the party secretariat in Lusaka on today.

Mr. Mufalali said that UPND youths will instead concentrate their energies in doing community work.

And MMD Copperbelt Provincial youth Chairman Chiko Chibale has instructed all the youth organs of the party in the province not to take part in youth day celebrations on Monday.

Mr. Chibale said that the MMD youths will not take part in tomorrow’s celebrations in protest of the alleged persecutions of its party leaders by the PF government.

He said that the party in the province has observed that the fight against corruption is selective and only target former MMD leaders.

Mr. Chibale has told ZNBC News that Monday’s boycott is just the beginning of many actions.

He says MMD members will continue boycotting national events if the alleged harassment continues.

But Patriotic Front Lusaka District Youth Secretary, Jeff Chiyenge said that it is unfortunate that youths from the opposition MMD have boycotted the youth day celebrations.

Mr Chiyenge said that this is promoting anarchy. He said that the PF has information that some MMD youths are being ferried to the southern province for the planned demonstrations over the re-alignment of districts.

Mr Chiyenge has since called on the law enforcement agencies to move in and arrest all those championing confusion. Mr Chiyenge was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka on today .

And Mr Chiyenge has wondered why the MMD youths are so bitter about Former President Rupiah Banda’s immunity issue. He said that if Mr Banda is innocent let him prove it in court.

Mr Chiyenge has since called on Parliament to remove Mr Banda’s immunity so that he can defend himself in Court.

  1. that’s the way to go bo Likando..there’s nothing to celebrate about !let the youths do alot of community work unlike listening to boring speeches of hate form the PF!!

  2. Sata himself never used to attend any state functions. Is he able to remember his behaviour when he was in opposition?

  3. am a youth 33 now ! and I ve never been to any of thez so-called cele… now, does it make any distinction whether I atend or not? NO! So what about thez upnd …mmd thing? TAFIKWETE INCITO ! Who is going to be affect ! NON ! So…

  4. This is just a waste of time by the under five. Fuc.k southern province and HH. Let us not be regional and tribal for nothing. We do not care about these minority group. If they get violent lock them up and charge the with treason.

  5. Sad that on Youth Day, political party labels follow our youth. Maybe it is because I was a youth when there was only UNIP, and most young people went to celebrate the day as youth from Schools, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, School Cadets, Chongololo Clubs, etc.

How shall we harmonise and develop our nation? How shall we speak with one voice and Zambian Youth?

  6. Kci, you are either a big fool or a dull baby. So you think demonstrating because of land is a small issue. All independence struggles are fights for land my dear. We in SP know the value of land that why we shall die for it. That is where we get our livelihood. Anyway I don’t expect you to understand because you guys live on NATOLAFYE and KUZEZELA. Don’t reduce this fight to HH nonsense, you just don’t sleep if you hear that name. This is a fight for bulls or have you forgotten that HH is a bull.

  7. Even genuine PF youths must also boycott so that Sata may begin to take them seriously. They behaved stupid on 20th September and he used them. Should they allow him to continue abusing them?

  8. It is okay PF youths are many they will march with the secondary schools pupils. Are they the only youths? Don’t worry there enough youths in the country let them sit away but they should not comment anything.

  9. ‘Mr Chiyenge has since called on Parliament to remove Mr Banda’s immunity so that he can defend himself in Court.

Do you have the numbers in Parley?

  10. No.6. If land you will die for it why are many Tongas in central province? All those big Tongas financially like HH, Chilala and so many more have settled in Central province. So what are you talking about most Tongas have left their land then go back

  11. Chiimba shut up coz you dont what you are talking about. You just support blindly. What about the Bembas and others who are in Southern and other provinces, does it mean they have no value for their mother land? And for those hardworking sons of SP the Chilalas, HH, have simply spread their tentacles to those other areas if you know what I mean.

  12. We are getting tired of a minority group just complaining all the time and being bitter. This is were I miss Kaunda who made very good use of the Army and Police. I do not hate tongas but is southern province the only area affected by creation of districts. No one is taking away any land. It is just administrative. You people that have just insulted me listen too much to the little boy. I bet you worship the under five boy to an extent that you have started using other parts of the body for thinking. I miss Mazoka.

    • yeh i think so MIMI lady is a tonga from her comments one would tell that she so bitter with the fact that PF is in power at the moment for you own info, next president will be chipimo junior , ask sangoma from south africa. HH can never make president you guys are too tribal, so awe twagaga. tonga president is not yet born, get it MIMI love.

  13. I wish these youths know the importance of this day to them. Anyway I am not surprised becoz even youths who are supposed to be our future leaders have been reduced to I.Diots like their leader HH. MMD has given reasons for boycotting but no reason from foolish UPND as usual they are just following blindly MMD decisions.

  14. ….And Chieftainess Mwenda says the UPND is responsible for the current tension between the government and traditional rulers in Southern Province over re-alignment of some districts……

  15. ….Chiefs Musungwa of Itzehi-tezhi, Mwanachingwala, Mwenda and Hanjalika said chiefs on their own had no capacity to raise funds for such huge meetings that require huge resources……

  16. Chief Musungwa said the pocket agenda being propagated by chiefs Mukuni and Chikanta on behalf of the opposition UPND would soon be exposed and the truth known.

He said it was wrong for the chiefs to hide their true colours using the re-alignment of Itezhi-tezhi and Chirundu districts to Central and Lusaka provinces respectively.

He said it had become clear that the two leaders were equally bitter with the loss their political party, UPND, suffered during last September’s elections.

  17. Chief Musungwa observed that the debate on re-aligning Itezhi-tezhi should be left to the people of Itezhi-tezhi to decide and not a clique of traditional rulers hired to fight the government.

Chief Musungwa charged that there was no way traditional rulers in the province could choose to work hand in hand with the opposition to bring down a legitimate government by frustrating its efforts of decentralising government operations instead of offering solutions to government.

  18. And now here is the red card for HH and his foolish party,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,He also wondered who the chiefs were representing on the re-alignment of Itezhi-tezhi district to Central Province because the local people were happy with government and could not wait for the policy to be implemented……..kekekekekekek HH paints down.

  19. Can UPND sycophants here respond to the above sentiments from your chiefs in southern province. Especially the comment at 20 and 21. I believe no one will respond in a pragmatic manner because you are all foolish like your party and HH, trying to bring anarchy to this country. Here are what chiefs with little education but more wise than HH can say. Mwasebana

  20. @KweKwe

Kolwestans like you are the reason why we will soon have a Civil War in Zambia and many monkey easters will die in the process. Sata has hired chieves to counter the statements made by the respected traditional leaders in SP. These small fools that you are quoting are neither known nor respected in SP, just like Kolwestans like you and Sata are not respected. The people of Southern power are a great people and should now start thinking of declaring an autonomous state and pulling away from this stupid country called Zambia. Leave the Kolwestans alone in Lusaka and on the Copperbelt and they will soon prove how useless they are.

  21. #15 don’t blame anybody if you loose you left foot in house-fire tomorrow. There is no way you can insult the King like that, wanyela ku mwela iwe.. Nalikwebele tabulwapo!

  22. Hey No.30 I have not insulted anyone or you don’t know the difference between tentacles and testacles? Shame, am sure you are a grade 2 dropout like your constable president. I don’t blame you.

  23. #31 You just insulted me for my mistakes, sorry mathole yandi. I was actually, sending lightening to #19. You are saved, just make sure you pick any food you drop, you are all damn lucky sons of …

  24. When did UPND start doing community work? Who’s fooling who? Mwailasha. Sata and PF rule, ba under five. Youth, dont be misled by politicians. Their agendas has nothing to do with your interests. Under-Five’s Perpetual Never-ending Diarrhoea!!!

  25. I am watching the youth day celebration on TV. I am loving it and it does not look like anyone is missing. Two hours and group matching do not seem to come to and end. The boycott is a drop in the ocean

  26. The Youth have participated in Youth Day by doing Community work, which is far superior to marching and dancing, more progressive.

  27. I was just wondering whether upnd and mmd have nay youth in them…..for them to boycot the celebrations….. Just say you donts youths in small parties.

  28. I am begging to suspect UPND and MMD do not youth and money. All there spokes person look order than 35 and looking at the way MMD has no way of raising money.
