Opposition UPND has described as unfortunate President Sata’s continued undermining the rule of law through his open attack on people and accusing them of crimes in public.
UPND Deputy Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa has also accused the president of breaching article 18 the constitution which states that a person is innocent until proven guilty by the courts of law.
He says it is unfortunate that President Sata has continued accusing opposition leaders of theft.
Mr. Mweetwa who is also Choma MP says President Sata should have used the youth day to articulate issues other than taking a swipe on defenceless opposition leaders.
He called on the president to concentrate on alleviating poverty other than attacking defenseless citizens.
MUVITV
mmmh i smell a rat here why is it that today tongas are so high on the president. muletina inshi just relax we are not like you. defenceless citizens zeeeee.
I think what the President is doing is failing to uphold the constitution. The President knows that he has immunity against prosecution as he goes on to slander people in the presence of gullible and naive youths who do not understand issues. However, I think someone shoul bring this up in Parliament and hold the Executive to account for this illegality. The Parliament is the only house in the country that can impeach the Head of State and There being a slim majority from PF, the President is at risk. If Parliament moves to impeach him, he may dissolve it and call for fresh elections. I suspect that this is what he wants. Bring it on, I say!
The change we voted for but i think Mweetwa has a point here!
YES, BUT WHAT SHOULD WE DO ABOUT IT? SATA CANT CHANGE BUT WE CAN. OR DONT YOU THINK SO?
If you boycott an event, you should disassociate completely with everything happening at that event. Some how these under fives boycotted but they seem to know more about Sata action at the event they did not attend
The president is a Standard 6. What did you expect from him?
There is no president in Zambia. It is a Government run by the opposition party PF…
Coming to think of it, does the UPND have better things to do other than responding and attacking Sata. We need to hear what the UPND plans are eg youth police, agriculture policy even your 90 days version of development. Not always sata this sata that pf this pf that. Grow up guys
No4 Ba president has BA degree what are you talking about? He is a learnt person not like your presidents who got their degrees from Matero University. He got from Bradford university UK. Ba siyeni ba teke
we need jobs pls
Youth day should be seen as a day where policy direction is clearly articulated pertaining to the needs of the youth especially that the PF campaigned on the premise of creating jobs for youths. But alas, what happened was mere politicking and taking a swipe at opposition. Was that really necessary? I seem to sense that in Zambia today, we have more of politicians than actual leaders. Hello?
Ka conelius umutwe ubukulu
if you dont want to be attacked quit politics full stop we know you and your party you paying some medias and some people like mutinta and mbozi to attack the president
Opposition should not think that they have the monopoly to criticise the president.UPND from day 1,out of their prejudice, hate and jealousy have been on Sata s neck throughout. He may be president by occupation, but he s also human with feelings. He is a husband, father and grand father and sometimes has to defend his persona.Don’t expect him to keep silent when you say bad things against him iwe ka Conman Mweetwa, brace yourself for a backlash.
leave politics to politicians ,most zambians have nothing to do with their free time they jst jump in things which doesnt fit them :o
No.5 Kci
Ask yourself what opposition party means?
Where is UPND kanshi? Why are not hearing their vision for Zeb? Their solution to youth unemployment etc?
UPND & HH lack seriousness. Levy and RB had asked you to work with them to fend of King Cobby but you thought you were smart! You opted for that ill fated Pact and look at you now? You helped create Frankenstein so stop complaining when he undermines the rule of law. A MMD/UPND Pact would have been more sensible but now we’re stuck with Cobby for 4 1/2 more yrs; God help us.
Don’t complain, you helped create this Frankenstein by refusing to work with MMD, to fend him off. Just sit back and enjoy the ride for the next 4yrs.
Zambia is being managed by a party which still think they are in opposition and this is an indication of failure. The opposition PF government has no agenda for youths as heard during the Youth Day Celebration. The opposition PF government president Serpent Cobra Sata should have addressed youths problems which he promised to solve and they voted for him in majority. You don’t call your friends thieves when you yourself is a thief. I know Serpent Cobra Sata stole from the me and other Zambians, he acquired houses fraudelantly, Merzaf housing project, the 3 billion convention cash in trucks, the solen vehicle and many more. Today he wants to play holier than Moses. So far he has not given direction to the country apart from the division am seeing and Zambia will pay for electing a cobra.
As long as Zambians do not analyse issues, the country will contue sinking into the deep. What UPND said is correct and is in the constitution. H.E. Sata is pronouncing people gulity even before he takes them to court. He needs to follow the constitution. We are tired of accusations. Since he has all the machinery to take people to court but fails to do so but keeps singing the accusing song, what are we to conclude. Please, advise our President Sata to respect other leaders.
I don’t understand why the President should be talking about the existence of thieves in opposition parties at a youth celebration. Thieves are found everywhere, even in PF. He is the leader of the nation & instead of talking about thieves, just ensure the relevant arms of government are dealing with it. We want results not speculation. Talk about it after they are arrested if any explanation is deemed necessary.
# 15 you so dull to ask for solutions from opposition parties when you have not asked the ruling party first …. go to school
another imbecile barking but these alshabaab tonga tribalists
What u re saying makes sense but becoz the majority of Zambians are dull because they are Kaponyas who have never been to sxool they canot see sense in wat u ve said.May God deliver Zambia.
