Police Investigate Murder After Body Found Burnt in Vehicle in Lusaka

Authorities in Lusaka are investigating a suspected murder after a body was discovered burnt beyond recognition inside a vehicle on Sheki-Sheki Road in Emmasdale.

The grim discovery was reported by a concerned resident, with police estimating the incident occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. Tuesday night. According to Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, the body was found in the driver’s seat, with the hands and legs bound together using wire, pointing to a possible homicide.

The vehicle, identified as a silver Toyota Corolla with registration number ACX 6276, has yet to be linked to an owner. Authorities are treating the case as murder and have launched an investigation.

Mr. Hamoonga has appealed to the public for any information that could assist in identifying the victim or shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the crime.

  1. I assume all cars are registered to their owners. Why is it then the it takes so long to link a car to the legal owner? We are already in the era of artificial intelligence. Please!

    • The hands are bound by wires and someone says it’s a possible homicide? It is not a possible but a definite homicide and ba ZP please find the culprits who committed this heinous crime, bring them to book so that such acts are no longer being committed. We live in a dangerous country bane, what has happened to peaceful Zambia, all this madness started during the gasing period. Since that time Zambia has turned into a mini Congo. So sad

  2. Our Christian nation should not be experiencing such barbarism. Worst still, our police are too incapable to conclusively solve such a crime. How monumentally sad.

    • If you think police do not work, think again. They do well with the available resources allocated to them. The problem now is that the only resources allocated are instructions from the higher authority. We really need to change this mindset and treat all crimes with urgency. It is these small unresolved crimes which result into chaos as people start thinking they can easily get away with it. Journalists should also follow up and update on these cases which seem not to be resolved so that questions are asked.

    • You started well but then you comment of that the Police need instruction from higher authority is dumb. How many cases do Police have to attend on a daily basis in each Police station? Are you telling me that each case need intervention of the higher authorities?

  3. Why is there increase of murdering innocent lives now? Is it because of our laws are becoming faulty?

  4. We still waiting for the report of the young 16 yr old girl supposidly murdered behind some blocks ??
The write up was very vague and unconvincing

  5. ZP even straight forward cases will take forever. We may even eventually forget about it.
