All is set for tomorrow’s Group E FIFA World Cup qualifiers match between Zambia and Niger.
peaking during a press conference at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium both team’s coaches expressed confidence in their squads, stating that they are ready and stand a chance to qualify for the World Cup.
Zambian National Team Coach Avram Grant acknowledged the strength of the opposition but maintained confidence in his team’s capabilities.
“We are not underestimating Niger. They’ve shown quality, but we’ve trained hard, and we are playing for our people. We are hopeful of carrying the day and making our nation proud,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Niger Assistant Coach, Zakariaou Ibrahim boldly declared that his side is focused and fully prepared to carry the day.
“We respect Zambia, but we are here to win. Our strategy is clear, and the boys are mentally and physically ready. We believe this is our moment,” he said.
The match which is set to kick off Sunday at 15:00 hours at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, promises to be a thrilling encounter.
With both teams eyeing to qualify for second position in the Group E, fans can expect a tightly contested game full of energy, skill, and determination.
Zambia National Team Assistant Captain Emmanuel Banda has called on the Zambian supporters to turn out in large numbers and rally behind Chipolopolo boys.
Banda has also urged fans to exercise good sportsmanship by supporting Chipolopolo boys and avoid breaking rules of FIFA by throwing litter in the stadium.
The Chipopolo boys have 9 points after beating Tanzania at their Backyard in Zanzibar on Wednesday and Niger has 12 points after bearing Congo Brazzaville 2 to 1 to send the rivalry to Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday as the both teams complete the contest.
In tomorrow’s game, Zambia needs to beat Tanzania with a big margin to have a chance of being second in group E.
In their last meeting Niger beat the Chipolopolo boys 2 to 1 for a game which was played in Morocco as Niger has no FIFA recognised stadium.
