A 24-year-old man of Kasenengwa District Eastern Province has reportedly been murdered by unknown people.
Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer, Robertson Mweemba said the incident occurred between October 18, 2025 around 12:00 hours and October 19, 2025 around 10:00 hours at Shamombo area in Kasenengwa.
Mr Mweemba, who identified the deceased as Isaac Daka of Vene village said the victim was found dead in Shamombo area.
He disclosed that the matter was reported by the deceased’s uncle who reported his demise and that he was robbed of a motorbike valued at K21, 000 belonging to Benjamin Phiri of Kazimule.
“Brief facts of the matter are that, the now deceased who was a rider was booked by two unknown people to be taken to Kazimule turn off on October 18 around 12:00hrs,” he said.
Mr Mweemba stated that police visited the scene where the body was found lying facing upwards and in a decomposed state.
He however, disclosed that a deep cut was discovered on the head indicating that a sharp instrument might have been used in the process.
Mr Mweemba further indicated that plastic slippers believed to be for the deceased were found 30 meters from his body where struggle marks were also noticed.
He revealed that the body has been handed over to the family to bury but that the grave has been marked for possible exhumation.
Mr Mweemba said the motorbike has been recovered from Japhet Ngoni at Mutenguleni turn off who intercepted the suspected murderers but that no arrest has been made.
