Mighty set up Power ABSA Cup semi

Power Dynamos and Mighty Mufulira Wanderers will face-off in the ABSA Cup semifinals after advancing during Sunday’s quarterfinals at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

‎Power thumped Nchanga Rangers 2-0 in the fourth quarterfinal, while Mighty needed postmatch penalties to eliminate stubborn FC MUZA at the same venue.

‎Kenyan striker Moses Shumar extended his scoring prowess from the Super League to the ABSA Cup when scoring against Nchanga.

‎Shumar, who has scored 20 times in the Super League this season, put Power in front against Nchanga after 15 minutes.

‎Defender Dominic Chanda concluded the scoring for Power when extending the lead 14 minutes away full time.

‎It was a commanding performance for the League champions and leaders Power.

‎Meanwhile, Wanderers edged Muza 5-4 after a goalless draw in the lunchtime match at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

‎The match finished scoreless in 90 minutes before being decided on penalties.

‎The semifinal line up is complete with Red Arrows scheduled to face Chirundu United.

‎Chirundu eliminated Zanaco from the ABSA Cup on Saturday, while Arrows ejected Play It Forward.

    • Mighty should start scoring. Too blunt in front. You mean you can’t get a Kalusha in Kantanshi, a Zoom Ndlovu in Kankoyo a Castella In section 5?

  1. The best news in many years.” Mighty” is coming back to life. I remember Ashios Melu, Aford Chabala and many more.
