President Hichilema assures of continue economic growth

President Hakainde Hichilema says his administration will push harder and deliver more development for the people of Zambia.

The Head of State says this trajectory is undeniable and unstoppable, saying more still remains to be done.

With various projects implemented in various sectors leading to significant progress achieved so far, the President assured that he will continue building the economy that works to benefit the nation.

“We will protect the peace and the unity that holds us together as one Zambia, one nation. And we will not stop until every Zambian benefits from that which we are fighting for,” Mr Hichilema said.

Addressing a multitude of UPND members and supporters soon after the Electoral Commission of Zambia declared him eligible to contest the 2026 August general elections, Mr Hichilema said his administration has restored the economy in free education, opened up mines, structured debt by 94 percent, and improved the agriculture and social sectors.

“We brought law and order, dignity, and fairness back. We strengthened our currency, stabilised our economy, and restored the mining sector with thousands of jobs and business opportunities,” he said.

He further stated that the government created thousands of jobs in the public sector, unlocked empowerment programmes, and expanded the CDF so that communities can shape their own future.

And Mr Hichilema said his administration will protect the peace and the unity which binds Zambians together as ‘One Zambia, One nation’

“We have come far, very far and let us not squander this effort. And by God’s grace, the best is still ahead of us,” he said.
