Muchinga Administration reaffirms accountability in Public Service

The Muchinga Provincial Administration has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting transparency and accountability in the public service as key pillars for effective service delivery.

Muchinga Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Brian Sichande says adherence to these principles is essential in ensuring efficiency and responsiveness in the delivery of public services.

Speaking during a church service held at Pentecostal Holiness Church in Chinsali ahead of the commemoration of Africa Public Service Day, Mr Sichande said a strong and productive public service depends on professionalism, integrity and dedication to duty.

“A strengthened public service requires the highest standards of professionalism and integrity if we are to effectively serve our people and meet their expectations,” he added.

Mr Sichande noted that the Government recognises the church as a critical partner in advancing sustainable development and fostering positive social transformation.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary further commended public service workers in the province for their commitment and contribution towards national development.

And Grace Ministries Church Reverend,  Harrison Banda said the church has an important role to play in supporting Government efforts aimed at improving the lives of communities.

Rev Banda stressed the need for public servants and other stakeholders to seek God’s guidance in the implementation of development programmes to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth.

He said the forthcoming Africa Public Service Day theme, “Enhancing Public Sector Institutions and Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships to Achieve Universal Water Availability and Sanitation,” underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in addressing societal needs.

“We need good leadership for us to achieve this plan, and we are grateful for the leadership that continues to champion development and service delivery across the country,” he said.

The clergyman further called for strong leadership and enhanced cooperation among stakeholders to accelerate development and improve service delivery.

The church service formed part of activities leading to the commemoration of Africa Public Service Day and highlighted the importance of integrity, collaboration and partnerships in building a responsive public service capable of driving sustainable development and improving the quality of life for citizens.
