Children to the recently deported Rwandese national Abdul Simwaya have challenged government to tell the nation what terrorist activities their father was involved in.

ZANIS reports that Mustafa and Asia Simwaya said this in a statement in Lusaka yesterday.

The duo were reacting to the deportation of their father, Abdul Simwaya, on grounds that he was linked to a terrorist organization in east Africa.

They said it was shocking that the Mr. Lungu made such allegations and later acted upon them without evidence.

The children questioned why their father was deported and was not arrested, charged and tried in the courts of law in Zambia if he was involved in any criminal activities.

They further challenged Mr. Lungu to tell the nation why he chose to deport their father instead of prosecuting him.

They have complained that the deportation was done irregularly and was unfair as their father was deported unaccompanied.

[pullquote]They said their father come to Zambia in 1966 was awarded Zambian citizenship in 1986 and has lived in Zambia for 0ver 46 years.[/pullquote]

The children said their father was Zambian and was given citizenship when he met all requirements by declaring to the citizens’ board the facts being used against him today.

They have since called on government to protect the interest of all Zambians by instituting inquiries in certain matters before making resolutions.

They said their father come to Zambia in 1966 was awarded Zambian citizenship in 1986 and has lived in Zambia for over 46 years.

  1. Why is this Lungu guy deporting Zambians? If someone has been in zambia since 1966 why deport him.Its so inhumane.PF get your act together. We never had this nonsense under MMD

    • it seems you don’t know how to read! who told you that Lungu is deporting Zambians??? I agree with the children there are irregularities in the deportation. However if they feel that protocol was not followed, let them seek legal remedies instead.

    • Its because the MMD was too porous to issues affecting National security. Govs everywhere are watching Muslims from all angles. The rule here is NEVER TRUST A MUSLIM! , this country will be a Jihad play ground if they are not controlled.

  2. We haven’t really moved from the savage UNIP type of dictatorship and unprofessional conduct by the govt. This man they have deported is a Zambian citizen. His family is here where he has spent most of his life. Politics of vindictiveness, spitefulness and hatred is what propels our country in a downward spiral of underdevelopment despite boasting abundant natural and human resources.

  3. Leo lwanya nomba ba PF, from realignment, district creating, appointment and retirement in the nation interest to deportation. No jobs and no more money in the pockets still mamamama

  4. AS PF GOVT WE ARE NOT FOOLS TO DEPORT INDIVIDUALS ANY HOW.WE HAVE A STRONG INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY AND WHEN WE MAKE DECISIONS THE WHOLE CABINET SITS TO EFFECT DECISIONS BASED ON FACTS ON THE GROUND..MR SIMWAYA
KNOWS WHAT HE HAS BEEN DOING AND WHAT HE INTENDED TO DO…DEPORTATION WAS THE ONLY SOLUTION.
A WARNING TO OTHER FOREIGNERS NEVER TO INVOLVE THEMSELVES IN CRIME AND POLITICAL AFFAIRS OF ZAMBIA….FULL STOP

    • what crime did he committ??? Tell the nation! A warning letter to other foreigners? Isnt he a citizen of Zambia? Are you dull?

    • If Mr Simwaya is linked to terrorism, ouch man, that avenue is a dark cruel some side! Knowing what happens in countries that have been blown up and killing so many, no govt would want that in Zed or supporting such elsewhere. Whatever he has done it must be really bad! A deportation is not good for anyone, it deprives one of many good life enjoyments, one has no peace. Too bad Mr Simwaya. Hope things work out good for you soon to normalise your life and living.

    • Scan our population for terrorists, they are everywhere these days. Our security needs to intensify too, how can Somalians (Terrorists) have AK 47’s in their homes instead of allowed hand guns????? If you think GOV is making a fuss out of this, then you are screwed up.

  5. What a shame this is to our government. The law on citizenship is being wrongly applied. It is very disgraceful to have one declared citizen then get deported to a country he knows nothing about. Let’s make use of our legal system the right way otherwise we shall be laughed at by other countries. Come on guys let’s do a better job.

    • Have you ever heard of these words before. IN NATIONAL INTEREST?, i believe our safety as Zambians is our national interest, so deporting a suspected terrorist is indeed in national interest.  Besides, why would the Gov deport him back to Rwanda if he was a Zambian citizen & why would Rwanda accept him????????? think!

  6. You foreigners why challenge the government when your father doesn’t want to behave in the foreign land! Just challenge your father and further advise him to behave. In Zambia we don’t associate with terrorists because not even one day have ever thought of engaging in such dirty acts. So children of the affected father, remind him to behave in a foreign land. We wouldn’t like to see our people running away leaving behind property. This can also be attributed to the Somalian who shot dead a Zambian!

    • Some of you people are so dull. Who is a foreigner here? This guy is a Zambian. Can you say you can deport Obama to Kenya???? If the guy committed a crime, try him in court.

  7. It was sad to see his children cry out on tv. Clearly Wynter was not consulted on this one. He would never break pipos hearts.

  8. And Sata, through his mouth piece Chella, say “wild and baseless allegations against the PF Govt”..expecting us all to believe it because it’s a press statement issued by state house.

    • aaaah, imwe as far as i know, president sata has never issues a press statement since he was president. w know how the man talks and we know how george chella writes. ba sata even written speech ilachinja into sata jokes/speech. we know how he talks and thinks. so all these state house press statements are just george chella talking. and if you want george chella to talk to you as if he was president,do so. listen to those releases he does. but ine nalishiba kuti its not sata. its chella talking gibberish as usual. if they want us to believe that its president sata talking, let him divert from the speech/press releases like he did in parliament and start asking who gave the information minister that name of FACK son shamenda. thats the sata we know. noti ichisungu chaba chella.

    • sorry not information minister but labour minister shamenda. ba sakeni pa menso bamoneka kwati bachibuku. did you know that these people like lusakatimes actually submit our names to zambian intelligence. so whatever you write here, they still give your emails and contacts if any to intelligence. dont be surprised when yo are visited by OP kunganda or deported to no mans land.

  9. I support you Hon Lungu If the man was indeed  a threat to our peace. it hightime these foreigner started behaving. we can not allow a foreigner owing a gun letter alone use the gun on a zambian. shame on you haters.

    • ba minister na mbonje ku left eye sure lol. ubwalwa bakamba mukaleke!!! and i agree with you,if he was a threat,he should be charged and tried for what ever case he committed. the man is zambian. why are you deporting him? he is a citizen. why should he be deported? i thought when one becomes a citizen,he enjoys all the previledges of all the other citizens in that country. so if you mr. kantanshi have a case to answer, should we deport you to no mans land? and from your statements,it seems you are connecting this issue to the somalian who shot the zambian. dont be like a woman, jumping from one story to another just to win an arguement. lets finish with this zambian man who was deported first and then address the somalian issue. lets not jump from case to case kwati nimpanya sure.

    • @ Zagaze, I am a Zambian by birth is Mr Simwaya was rwandee and He applied to become a Zambian  after meeting certain condition, and now that he has failed to live up to the conditions on which he was given the citizenship  the government is right to revoke the  citizenship that was given to him.You and me are not previl to the information that the minister has,do want another innocent zambian to be shoot that when you will believe , let not political on some of these issues we are talking about the peace  of the country.

  10. Tell us what he did! What crime? what threats? You are doing everything wrong in the name of the zambian people. Tell the country what this man did wrong. Are you dull?

  11. Drag Edgar’s arse to court and sue him! This country is fast degrading into a Banana republic. At least the Judiciary has some measure of independence.

  12. This deportations of zambians has gone too far. Is this the way to govern a country by removing those citizens that do not please you? The PF gang is breaking both local and international laws. Most of these people are not even having their day in court. This is dictatorship

  13. @ Zagaze, I am a Zambian by birth is Mr Simwaya was rwandee and He applied to become a Zambian  after meeting certain condition, and now that he has failed to live up to the conditions on which he was given the citizenship  the government is right to revoke the  citizenship that was given to him.You and me are not previl to the information that the minister has,do want another innocent zambian to be shoot that when you will believe , let not political on some of these issues we are talking about the peace  of the country.

  14. Well, any govt has a right to revoke citizenship if one is found to be wanting BUT that person must be first charged, tried in the court of law and if found guilty beyond reasonable doubt then it’s and jail time. After saving their jail term, they then can be deported. For as long as Mr Simwaya committed an offence on the Zambian soil, he is liable to prosecution. I smell a RAT too here. Business deal with a govt official gone sour and the official doesn’t want to be found out.

  15. This Lungu guy is always drunk to make meaningful decisions, by the way where does this drunkard come from and what was he before being mimnster., okay this quality of Minister for Lungu is far beyond normal quality. You Sata doesn’t see that this guy is completely finished coz of beer, the memory capacity has been eaten by alchol he doesn’t even know what’s happening in govt.

  16. How come Zambians of foreign decent are only now-under the PF government becoming a threat to peace. To our Zambian brothers and sisters please forgive the sins of these ruthless men God is your vindicator.

  17. The citizenship status of the deported should be investigated, other wise where security issues are concerned no country takes things lightly. Edger made a mistake, the guy was supposed to be interrogated full time.

  18. SOME ZAMBIANS ON THIS BLOG ARE FOOLS…WHAT OTHER DATA DO YOU NEED…MR LUNGU HAS ALREADY SAID THAT
1.HE USED FAKE DOCUMENTS TO APPLY FOR ZAMBIAN CITIZENSHIP
2.HE HAS BEEN ISSUING THREATS OB FELLOW RWANDESE NATIONALS
3.HE USED TWO DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES ON DOCUMENTS EG..CONGO AND RWANDESE
4.HE HAS CONNECTIONS WITH SOME TERRORIST GROUPS

OBVIOUSLY IF YOU EXPECT MR LUNGU TO GIVE OUT INTELLIGENCE DATA TO THE PUBLIC THEN YOU ARE FOOLS…VIVA PF VIVA PF……

  19. Those children if they find revoking their dad’s zambian citizenship is not acceptable they should also follow him to Rwanda. Look what is happening to Congo DCR, its its association with bad elements abouring them and they start growing wings. Many Rwandans are nice people but some are too dangerous to keep and give citizenship.Lungu weldone Zambia should not and must not be used for terrorist activities. We are loving, peace and caring people but our country is not a country for warcrime activities.

  20. Any one with a right mind should not think this is the right way to treat people. Am shocked that some would even voice their support online. Be very careful least the Judgement of God come upon you. God is not asleep in these matters, God does not condone injusticies. Watch and see, its a matter of time.

  21. Zambians let us not be against any move that the government has made. All is done in the interest of the peace loving Zambians. People who have traveled know what it takes to be on foreign land. Some body can fictitiously obtain Zambian citizenship with a view to cause havoc in the nation, can that be a passport to do anything that may endanger the lives of the innocent people? Government is there to protect its citizens, any foreign element found wanting can be dealt with in the best manner that the govt may decide. So let us not question any move taken by the government to bring about peace.
