Discipline to reign at CEEC, says new Director

ceec

The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) has pledged to carry out its operations in accordance with the current government’s manifesto.

CEEC Director General Likando Mukumbuta said the irregularities that used to happen at his institution during the past few years will now be a thing of the past.

Mr. Mukumbuta has since warned his officers against stealing public resources.

He was speaking in Mansa yesterday during a business consultative meeting.

He further disclosed that CEEC will make serious adjustment in the disbursement of resources to those who will qualify for the funds.

Mr. Mukumbuta further said 30 per cent of the CEEC funds will be allocated to youth empowerment programmes while 70 per cent will be for women and other empowerment programmes.

He said Zambians will be given first priority when it comes to benefitting from the empowerment funds.

Mr. Mukumbuta reiterated that CEEC funds were meant to revolve around Zambians so that they can improve their livelihoods at domestic and community levels.

  1. If you say so brother Mukumbuta, yes before Barotseland fully secedes lets make sure we use the Zambian money to the benefit of your Lozi brothers and sisters…I will be the first one to visit you and make sure that all goes to Lozis…Its high time we also became the mwenyes in Zambia i mean controlling the business sector too..we are educated and now need to be powerful business men..Lozi business commuinity coming sooon! keep watching

  2. What is the criteria CEEC uses to disburse funds? Do the applicants have to write a project/business plan which is sustainable? Are there included mechanisms on how CEEc will make follow up on the progress of the business? Are the funds given out 100% the first time? Anybody with information?

  3. We understood CEEC funds was to support projects by indigenous people. The funds would be insufficient for for locals anyway – this ought to be an affirmative initiative to benefit Zambians.

  4. That said, tell the nation what stage are cases of thefts and prosecution of those that stole from CEEC. This incudes former Director General who invested in South Africa (relative to Bob Sichinga). As long as Sata is shielding thieves which has been his hallmark of leadership, empowerment of Zambians through these local initiatives will never yield any results worth mentioning in our country. Many false allegations made by Sata so far seem to have been meant to demin and hatefigure Zambians and gain cheap popularity out of deception. Non of the cases have had logical conclusion. Zambians no longer question this state of affairs because Sata is on record that he will defend all thieves in his PF government.
